Harmless(49)

Seg's gaze dropped to Roan's shaft, watching as he pulsed in his hand, cum spurting onto his chest, his stomach. It pushed Seg closer to the edge, but he couldn't stop, taking his pleasure from Roan's body until he thought his head might explode.

"Come inside me, Colton," Roan urged, his hands gripping Seg's forearms. "Right fucking now."

Coming on command wasn't an easy thing, but Seg forced himself to let go, his hips slamming against Roan's ass one last time as he came, the room spinning from lack of oxygen to his brain.

He fell forward, brushing his hand through Roan's hair, kissing him gently while his dick softened. He was reluctant to pull out of him, not wanting to break that connection. Seg honestly hadn't come over with the intention of fucking Roan, but now that he had, he wasn't sure he'd be able to stop. He already wanted more, but he knew Roan needed to sleep. He probably didn't sleep all that much anyway with Liam waking up every few hours.

Finally, he forced himself up, then followed Roan into the bathroom, where they both cleaned up. A quick shower made that easy, but not easy enough. Seg willed his dick to chill the fuck out. The promise of sleeping next to Roan was the only thing that really helped.

ROAN WOKE TO THE SUN shining in through his bedroom window. He stretched, then jolted, sitting up abruptly. No way should he be in bed this late. Liam had to be awake, and Roan didn't know how he wouldn't have heard him. His gaze swung to the dresser, searching for the baby monitor.

Shit. It wasn't there. How had he forgotten it?

"Fuck," he mumbled, grabbing a pair of sweat pants out of the drawer and dragging them up his legs. He took a moment to run to the bathroom, then flung the bedroom door open only to come to an abrupt halt.

There, in his kitchen, was Seg, talking to Liam.

"It's true, little guy," Seg said, his back to Roan. "No experience whatsoever. But I think I did well, eh? I will have to invest in a book though. Get a few pointers on how to put that smile on your face more often. Maybe get an instruction manual on this thing, too. What does this button do?"

Seg pushed a button and a musical note played from the bouncer Liam was reclining in.

"I like it," Seg said, sounding proud of himself.

Roan's heart was in his throat as he listened to Seg talk to Liam.

He cleared his throat.

"There's your daddy now," Seg said, glancing over at him. He must've noticed the sheer fear etched on Roan's face, because Seg stood up straight and stared at him. "I'm sorry. When Liam woke up, you didn't budge, so I thought I'd hang with him for a while and let you sleep. We managed through the diaper change, and it took a minute, but we got the bottle figured out thanks to the directions on the formula can. I fed him, too. I only did what you did last night, so if there's something else he needs … "

"No, that's-" Roan moved closer, glancing down at Liam, who was sitting in his bouncer on the kitchen table. He was smiling as he glanced between the two of them. "I thought I didn't wake up and he was still crying."

"I'm sorry," Seg said softly. "I took the monitor so we wouldn't wake you. I really didn't mean to freak you out."

"No, it's fine." Roan glanced at the stove. "Are you  …  making breakfast?"

Seg smiled. "Bacon, eggs, and toast. Figured since you had it in your fridge, you probably ate it." He peered back over at Liam. "I hope that's okay. I put him in this thing so he could see me. Thought maybe if I chatted with him, he'd stay chill."

"He likes it," Roan assured him, his head still buzzing from the fact that Colton Seguine was in his kitchen, making breakfast, talking to his son. It felt like a dream. One he hoped he didn't wake up from.

Knowing Seg was worried thanks to Roan's reaction, Roan moved over to him and kissed him quickly. "Thank you. I …  I haven't slept like that in a long time."

"I'm glad to do it. Me and Liam  …  we're tight now. He's been making sure I do everything right. Plus, he puked on me." Seg's grin widened. "I thought maybe that was his way of officially accepting me."

Oddly, the thought of the badass hockey player not freaking out because a baby spit up on him was endearing.

Roan's heart did a slow turn in his chest. The fact that Seg was there, taking care of the baby, making breakfast for the two of them …  If Roan wasn't careful, he was going to fall hard for this guy. It wasn't that he was purposely holding himself back either. He was scared. Terrified even. Life simply didn't go that way for him. Sure, he had a job he loved, enough money to do anything he wanted, friends who would be there whenever he needed them, but Roan had never found love. Not the real thing. In fact, not since high school had he even contemplated the idea. He was thirty-four fucking years old.
