Forever Girl(21)
We've discussed setting up trust funds for the twins and keeping a portion of the money in the Properties Account for maintenance along with the fee for the lawyer. He knows that I still want to work even if its part-time. He tells me that I can work for him at the Mining Company or the small hospital in town.
Chapter 21
Lyric
"Momma can we watch a movie?" Jamie asks as we are leaving Saturday morning.
"I have "The Croods" or "Inside Out. So you two need to discuss which movie you want to watch first."
They decided they wanted to watch "The Croods" first. We pull out of the driveway and I follow behind Dean and Shadow. I can't stand the quiet so I put on the satellite radio. I start jamming out to country music. I never would've listened to this music when I was younger. I was more of a classic rock girl. Don't get me wrong I still listen to the Classics but I can appreciate other genres now. We jump on I-75 from the Athens-Boonesboro exit and head south. About an hour later we get onto US-25E South in Corbin. We have been on the road for about and two hours and my ass is getting sore. We are getting ready to get onto US-119 outside of Pineville when we decide to stop and eat at Engle's Restaurant. I'm thankful because I know the twins are hungry and I need to get out and stretch. The place looks like a store and I look at Dean with a questioning look.
"This place has the best burgers around." He says with a smile.
I trust that he would know about the places around here. We go in and the first thing I notice is the old Coca-Cola menu sign on the wall and the red booth tables. I take Jazz to the bathroom to wash up. Jamie's thrilled his dad can now take him to the boy's bathroom instead of having to follow along with us girls. We meet back up and grab a booth. Dean orders chicken nuggets, fries, and fruit punches for the kids. I ask for a cheeseburger with everything, curly fries, and a Dr. Pepper. Dean and Shadow both order cheeseburgers with everything, chili dogs, curly fries, and Dr. Pepper.
"How far are we from Harlan?" I ask between bites.
"We're about forty-five minutes from there. It won't take long once we get back on the road."
He tells us about Chained Rock, the Hotel, and the State Park that's around here.
"When we leave here we're going to stop at the water spigot on US-119 and get some water."
The children and I just look at him.
"People always stop there for the water because it's fresh from the mountain and tastes amazing." He says with a chuckle.
He was right about the burger and the water. I know I'll be coming back here to eat. We're back on the road and I tell Jazz and Jamie it won't be much longer. They have full stomach's and are content because I put on the other movie before we got back on the road. We come up to a three-way highway intersection in the center of Baxter. It a Coal Monument made of stacked and mortared blocks of shiny coal that stands about fifteen feet tall. We go a little bit down the road and on the side of the road I see a Motel named Jones's. It's definitely a no tell motel. I shiver and shake my head because the place looks like creepers hang out there and its way past it's prime. We turn left onto KY-38 and that takes us into Harlan. I wish I wasn't driving because I want to look around the town that Dean and my family call home. I figure he'll have to take a day and drive me around and tell me everything he knows about this town. I can see the town on my left but we drive right past it. We continue on KY-38 for a few more minutes and on the right I see a sign that says "String Town." I see a Gas Station named "Last Stop" and some Shanty houses. From what I can see it goes for a couple of blocks back. It looks to me like neighborhoods. Not even a half of a mile later I see another sign that says "Clover Town". There's only one building but there are two signs. One sign says "Mag's Bar" and the other sign says "Slice Steel Tattoo Parlor". I continue another half a mile and I look on my right and see a creek and think that'll be a place I'll take the kids. I also see the Rail Road Tracks and I'll have to make sure that they know not to play by or on them. I'll have to learn the train schedule also. We turn right onto Maggie Lane Rd. Shadow then turns right and waves to us. We turn left onto Kitts Rd. It also looks like a little town all on its own. I see the sign that says "Kitts" and there are a few trailers. I know we're close to our new home and I could scream with excitement. We go over the rail road tracks and you can see small houses and trailers on both sides of the road. On down the road a little you see Omega's Store and a few houses and what looks like an apartment building. We continue down the road and I see the Mining Company. There's another little road that splits from Kitts and it's called Kitts Camp Rd. I think that's where more trailers and houses are. We continue on the road and I see we're right next to the Rail Road tracks and then we go to the right up the hill. When we come around the small bend I see our new home. It's beautifully rustic with a wraparound porch. I can see Dean and I snuggling on a porch swing or drinking coffee in the morning in a couple of rocking chairs. I fall in love with the house immediately and I haven't even seen the inside yet.
"Look out the windows you two. We're home." I say as I turn the music and movie off.
They look out the window and start getting excited.
"Is this a mansion?" Jazz asks.
"Can we have a dog?" Jamie asks.
I tell Jazz that it looks like a Princess's home. I tell Jamie that his dad and I will talk about getting a dog. I put the car into park and turn it off. I get out and open the back door so the kids can get out of their seats. They start running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
I start to stretch when I feel Dean come up behind me and growl. I look over my shoulder at him.
"I can't wait until tonight so I can fuck you." He says to me as he wraps his arms around me.
I shiver and push my ass into his jean covered cock. He steps away from me and smacks my ass and then grabs my hand and tells the kids to follow us. I think we're going into the house but we follow a path to the backyard. The backyard's huge and the porch goes around the whole house. Here in the back the porch turns into a deck it sprawls out. There's an outside kitchen that has a grill, stove, island that has a sink, and a fridge. The space can be closed in with a wall of windows for winter. Next to the kitchen is a Tiki Bar. This will be nice when we have his brothers and their families over. There's an outside sectional and a couple of lounge chairs. On the other side of the porch I see a hot tube. There's a pool that has a fence around it just off the porch. I see that there's a storage space and I assume that's were more chairs and tables are. I see a small building that looks like a guest house. I walk to the building and see it's a pool house. It looks like a guest house. It has a kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. There's also a couple of changing rooms along with bathrooms with showers. I walk out of the pool house and see that there's still plenty of space for kids to have a swing set.
"One of the prospects has gone into town to get a swing set and enough wood to make a fort for Jamie and a playhouse for Jazz." He says to me when I mention a swing set.
"They're going to love having a fort and playhouse along with the swing set honey. It makes my heart happy that you even thought about what the kids would want. How do you feel about getting a dog?" I say as I put my arms around him.
"We'll start looking for a puppy for the children. I'll probably have enough wood left to make a dog house. I should probably get a fence around the backyard also. I want to make sure wild animals can't get into the yard while the kids are playing." He tells me.
"You think of everything my love. Is my dad and your brothers stopping by?" I ask as I give him a kiss.
"They'll be over in an hour or two to help build the stuff for the kids. I need to call one of my brothers to come over to help me get the dimensions. Then I can call the prospect while he's at the hardware store to pick up the fence too." He says
I holler to the kids and tell them it's time to go in the house. We need to decide on what rooms they want. They run up to use and asks if they get their own rooms or if they have to share still. Dean tells them that they'll get their own rooms and they respond with hoots and hollers.
We get inside the door and Dean goes to the wall to turn off the Security System.
"The code is 071892" He tells me.
"Yes it's your birthday." He says when he sees the question in my eyes.
We came in through the kitchen and it's a chief's dream. Chrome appliances, black marble counter tops, dark cherry wood cabinets, cherry wood floors and the ceiling exposes the wood the same color as the floor. I think to myself this place is going to be heaven to cook in. Next to the kitchen is the dining room and it has a table that'll seat twelve. It's dark cherry wood and the chairs are black. There's a chandelier that's made of Elk Horns above the table. I can see into the living room from the kitchen and dining room. He constructed the main floor to be a completely open space. I see the fireplace that dominates one wall all the way to the ceiling. It's stone and as I walk further into the room I can see part of the upstairs and the wood banister. The living room ceiling is probably thirty feet high. There are a couple of chandeliers hanging from the wood beams that are exposed. There are two black leather sectionals and a coffee table in the space in front of the fireplace. There are two bookshelves on either side of the fireplace. On the right of the living room you can see the hallway and the stairs that go up to the second floor. The stair railing's made of dark cherry wood. The steps are grey stone it's beautiful workmanship. I walk to the hallway and there's four doors. The first door on the left is a half bath with a dark wood counter. The faucet looks like a well pump and the sink is a bowl. The room is painted a light brown color and the trim is a darker brown. The first door on the right is the library. Three of the four walls are floor to ceiling bookcases. The fourth wall is glass with a sliding glass door that leads outside to the porch. The second door on the right is his office. He has a desk made of Mahogany and it's a large piece of furniture. He has a computer on it and there are files that are stacked to the side. He has pens, stapler, tape, the usual stuff you would find on a desk. Two walls have bookcases with a couple of pictures and his Diplomas from high school and college on one shelf. The fourth wall is also a wall of windows with a sliding glass door leading outside. I walk out of his office and make it to the end of the hall. I open the door and there are steps that lead to the basement. I'm getting ready to go down and check it out when Dean stops me.
