Finding His Dragon(20)

He groaned and pressed his lips to her shoulder, closing his eyes tight. Not biting her was going to be harder than keeping himself from coming.

“Do it,” she whispered in his ear. “Do it now.”

He shook his head, but already his teeth were poking through. “Can’t. Heat,” hopefully she’d understand what he wasn’t able to articulate.

“I’ve already claimed you. I know what I want. I want this.” She lowered her mouth to the spot where she’d bitten him and nipped at his skin. That spot, more than any other was like an on switch for the dragon. His growl erupted from him, but still he held back.

She moved faster, sliding up and down his cock, rubbing her clit against his fingers. She fisted his hair and crushed his lips beneath hers, sliding her tongue over his sharp teeth. It wasn’t much, but the sweet coppery flavor of her blood in his mouth had his dragon surging forward. She pulled away, then with a strength he hadn’t anticipated, she pulled him so that his mouth was flush against the base of her neck. “Do it. Bite me. Make me yours, damn it,” she growled.

Unable to deny either of them, he did. Her soft flesh gave way to his teeth as he gave her the claiming bite. His blood pounded through him fast and hard. Her movements became jerky as she moved faster and faster. With her head thrown back, and her fingernails digging into his shoulders, she came all over him. The tiny muscles inside her squeezed his cock hard, milking him until he couldn’t hold back. He released her shoulder and roared as he let go, filling her with his seed.

Charlotte slumped against him, her head resting on his shoulder. He stroked his fingers up and down her spine. He should have waited to claim her, but did he regret it? Hell no. It wouldn’t have mattered if he’d claimed her or not. There was no way he would let her go.

They didn’t move until the water started cooling, and then only to wash each other with the scented soap he had gotten for her in the village that morning. He’d probably get razzed by the guys when they smelled him, but he didn’t care. It was more than worth it. By the time he had her out of the tub and toweled dry, her eyes were half closed.

“Let’s get you tucked into bed,” he said as he scooped her up into his arms.

“You know I can walk, right?” she asked with a giggle.

“I know, but I like carrying you. You may never get to walk again.”

“What’s all that?” she asked when she spotted the shopping bags on the bed.

He’d forgotten he’d set those there before joining her in the tub. “I went and got a few things for you while you were sleeping this morning. I figured you’d want something new. We can go shopping and get you the things you want once you’re better.”

She opened her mouth to say something when a loud pounding came at the door. Brycen’s voice came through an instant later. “Clan meeting in five,” he shouted before stomping away.

ELEVEN

Charlotte didn’t know what to expect. Jace had said that he didn’t know what the meeting was about, and she had no reason to doubt him. Tension coiled in her stomach. Something was wrong. Jace held her hand as they entered a huge living room with several couches and a massive fireplace.

All eyes turned to her—more eyes than she had expected. Stella and Maddie were there along with the man who had poked his head in to make sure she was okay the previous night. But so were a dozen or so other men. Each and every one of them had a fierce look about them.

“Come on in,” a man with hair so light it almost looked white said. “I’m Austin.” He came forward and shook her hand.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Charlotte.”

Jace pulled her closer, and she couldn’t help but smile at him. Was he jealous of his friend? Rather than poke the dragon, she leaned into him and wrapped her arm around his waist.

He took her around the room, introducing her to Luke, who sat with Maddie, and Brycen, who had Stella sitting on his lap, and all the other men. There was no way she would remember them all.

“Some of the guys are out patrolling, and a few are out of town. We’ve called everyone back. They should be home by tomorrow afternoon,” Austin said.

Jace tensed next to her, and his hand squeezed hers a little tighter. “What’s going on? Why did you call them home?” he asked.

Austin glanced at her before answering. “There are four or five dragons in the village. They’re looking for Charlotte.”

Her heart stuttered, then took off at a gallop. They had already found her. She had hoped to have a couple of days before having to face them.

When she looked up at Jace, she found him watching her. “It’s okay, love. We figured they’d come. We’ll be ready.”
