Filling up the Virgin(7)

By:Amy Brent

When Nicki asked me to go to the club that weekend over dinner on Wednesday, I reluctantly agreed. It had been a long week with school and dealing with my bitter mother, and a few drinks and dancing sounded great. I just had to accept that it would be nothing more.

I did my hair in loose curls and kept my makeup light. I was just going to relax and have some drinks. I wore a black denim skirt and a dark purple wrap shirt that clung to my curves and showed off a little cleavage. I could still look good.

Nicki came over, and we took a cab to the club even though my heart wasn’t into the idea all that much. I decided to try and enjoy myself. We found a place at the bar and ordered some drinks as Nicki took a long look around. She was happily meeting men and having a fun time since she had no attachments to anybody. She glanced behind us and tilted her head for a moment as I took a long drink of my lemon drop. “Poe?”

“Yeah?” I asked as I thought about my second drink.

“I believe that Declan is here but I see double or something,” she said as I turned my head to look at her.

“What?” I turned my head further to look at his table from the first night, and my mouth dropped open. Declan was sitting there, but he was next to a man identical to him with a few friends, drinking and laughing. “Twins?” Part of me thought that my fantasy just came true while another part of me was angry that he was here just having fun while I pined away for him.

“Did you have any idea?” Nicki asked beside me as I shook my head. “You take Declan, and I’ll take the brother?” Her voice was accompanied by laughter, and I shut down the idea in my head.

“I want them both,” I breathed as I blushed and regretted my words.

“Damn, girl. That’s quite a jump,” Nicki remarked as I tried to find a way to backpedal my way out of ever having said that.

“I was kidding. It’s just…twins!” I joked as I turned forward and downed the remains in my glass. “Who doesn’t fantasize about that for a second?”

“Do you know which one is Declan?” Nicki asked as she turned forward as well.

They looked too much alike to tell, making me feel hot and bothered as I imagined touching them both to find out.

CHAPTER 4

I had enjoyed a few more drinks before I turned to look back at the table. Only one of the twins remained, and I narrowed my eyes at him as someone brushed against me moving towards the bar. I glanced to my left, and my eyes widened as one of the brothers stood beside me, laughing with a friend. “Declan?”

The man turned to look me over with an arrogant gaze, shaking his head. “The other one.” I looked at Declan at the table, who looked towards the bar and noticed me standing beside his brother. He set his beer down on the table and stood to walk over as I stared at him. “Are you the one from the one night? He mentioned you to me, and Dec was right…you’re hot.” I didn’t like the insinuations that he was making even though I’d had the same thoughts just moments ago and I focused on Declan.

“Polly,” Declan said as he stood in front of me and looked at his brother. “You’re here.”

“Yeah, I am,” I replied as Nicki leaned back against the bar and watched with her drink in hand. “You have a brother?”

“This is Braden,” Declan said, gesturing to his brother as I nodded in his direction. “He wasn’t with me that night. How are you?”

“I’m fine. The usual, you know.” I replied as I felt his eyes drift down my body while I suspected that his brother was doing the same thing. Why the hell was I so turned on? I faced the bar, ordering a couple more drinks as Braden called out some drinks and slid a large bill across the counter to pay for them. I glanced at Nicki as she raised an eyebrow at me, unsure of what to do. Braden distributed the drinks to his friends and winked at me before heading back to the table as Declan moved next to me.

“I’ve been thinking about you since that night,” he confessed as I looked at him for a long moment. “I’m sorry that I had to cut things short. There was a lot more that I wanted to do.”

“Where did you go?” I asked as I felt his hand on the small of my back.

“There was an issue at our club that I had to deal with. Braden was out of town dealing with the publishing company that we took over for my father when he passed away.” He replied as I frowned. “I didn’t want to leave you.”

“I didn’t want to go home. I wanted to stay with you.” I looked at him. “It wasn’t enough for me.”

“I have the room tonight, but Braden will be there too. We’re staying in the city this evening,” Declan said as I wondered how similar Braden was to his brother.
