He shrugged. "Do you need me to prove it to you right now, right here?" He turned and surveyed the area behind them before settling his gaze firmly on her chest. "Please say yes, baby."
She laughed. "You really are incorrigible."
"Nope. Just fiercely desperate." He leaned forward and ground his hips against her so she got the full picture of exactly what he meant.
"Then how about we make a deal. You go and do whatever a perimeter check entails, then stop at the diner for a blueberry pie and some whipped cream on your way back. Then we can discuss this desperation in great detail."
His eyes widened a moment before he buried his face in her neck with a long groan. "You're killing me, baby."
She shoved at his chest and pushed him away. "Better hurry up. I hear pregnant women can get pretty crazy when they are deprived."
He started to go and turned back, flashing a sexy leer in her direction. "Trust me. I'll never allow it. No mate gets deprived. And you're mine, so get used to it." With that he disappeared around the corner and she caught a quick glimpse of him running through the house.
Dani covered her mouth to stifle a giggle. She wasn't sure how everything was going to work right now, but she trusted that her man would move heaven and earth to make sure it did. She wrapped her hands around her stomach and tilted her head down to speak. "Funny how things work out little one..."
Little bubbles erupted inside her and Dani gasped. Tears filled her eyes again.
Creed didn't know it, but he'd given her the most unexpected gift of all.
Hope.
