Divine Charity(Divine Creek Ranch 18)(31)
Deep murmurs of pleasure reached her ears as she fell against Justin and gasped for breath. His heart pounded in her ear where she lay, and she smiled at its rapid rhythm. It was a wonderful feeling knowing she could still do that to him. She flexed her hips against his and smiled as he groaned and responded by wrapping his arms tightly around her and thrusting back. The breeze drifted lazily over her sweat-dampened skin as she stroked both his biceps.
“Pretty baby?”
“Mmm?” she murmured with eyes still closed, enjoying the shimmering waves of pleasure as the orgasm receded along with the memories and she was left in the afterglow, their bodies still deeply connected.
Justin cuddled her, kissing her temple, and stroked the back of her head. “Remember telling me you’d do anything for me?”
“I meant it, babe,” she replied as she opened her eyes and looked up at him. “Anything.”
As her blurry vision slowly cleared in the darkness, she became aware of two large figures seated in the chaise lounges beside them. She blinked again and the image didn’t disappear, instead they came into focus. Val and Ransome. In the flesh. Staring at her so intensely she felt it on her skin.
“I want to make your ultimate fantasy come true.”
She pushed up into a sitting position, reminding her that Justin was still buried deep inside her. “Huh?”
He brushed loose strands of her hair away from her cheeks. His gaze radiated with tenderness that was echoed in his deep voice. “You’ve waited a long time, baby. And I’m done being a selfish bastard.”
Chapter Six
Val sat next to Ransome holding his breath. Waiting for her response. When Justin had levelled with them the month before, he’d envisioned her reacting in all sorts of ways. He hadn’t anticipated the way waiting for her reaction would affect him as she turned her gaze on him.
The last time he’d seen such vulnerability in her eyes had been twenty-two years ago, the afternoon Val and Ransome had confessed that they wanted her, too. She looked ready to cry, which opened a painful void in his chest. To see her hurting caused him pain. She closed her eyes and then tilted her head downward as though bracing herself. Her shoulders slumped and her hair fell forward to hide her face. So unlike the Charity he loved.
She finally lifted her gaze to Justin. “No.”
Cupping her cheeks in his hands, holding her gaze captive, Justin said, “Why?” Val couldn’t understand why Justin smiled at her as though she hadn’t just turned them down.
She slid one hand up Justin’s chest and stroked his neck. “You have good intentions in fulfilling this fantasy but you don’t realize some fantasies must stay just that. Flights of fancy.”
Persisting, he held her face and said, “You don’t want them?”
Val felt a spear of pain in his chest as he waited for her response. He almost wished they’d just maintained the status quo. He glanced at Ransome and saw his pain mirrored in his cousin’s face. What had they been thinking?
“It’s not a matter of wanting them. You know I do, babe. You know me better than anyone. But look at me.”
Justin grinned as his thumbs stroked her cheekbones. “Trust me, I am. I’m looking at you and wondering why I didn’t trust my instincts sooner.” Releasing her cheeks, he stroked her chin with his index finger. “Tell them why you don’t want this.”
“Justin—”
“Tell them,” he ordered as he stroked her softened nipple, returning it to its former tightened state. “They deserve that much.”
Val inhaled through the pain and waited, wondering at this sadistic tendency of Justin’s.
Charity looked at the deck for several seconds and then trapped Val with her gaze. “What would be a fantasy weekend for you would break my heart. The fantasy can’t live up to this reality,” she said as she waved a negligent hand at her torso.
Ransome shifted and sat forward and placed his elbows on his knees. “What reality are you referring to, Charity?”
She tilted her head and her eyes begged him to not make her elaborate.
Justin tweaked her nipple and then shifted beneath her with a groan. Val could only guess at the cause. Her pussy had reacted to the stimulus, even as her breathing grew audible, her emotions rising to the surface. Justin only chuckled when she slapped his hands away as she sat up, her lips firming as she straightened her shoulders.
“I’ve given birth to two kids and fed them from these breasts,” she said, lowering her hand down her torso to her abdomen. “I have stretch marks. I’ll be thirty-nine this year. You may think you want this fantasy now. We can spend the weekend making love in the candlelight and shadows so you don’t notice all my flaws. But in the end you’ll fall asleep with the fantasy and wake up with Charity.”
