Dimitri's Forbidden Submissive(55)

Wrapping a towel around her, he began to dry her. “You are surprisingly good at fighting me off.”

She grinned while he patted her arms dry. “I told you I know how to fight.”

Suddenly serious, he knelt before her and drew the towel gently across her belly. “If you ever fight for real, for your life, you must go for their eyes and throat if you can.”

“What?”

He dropped the towel and took her hand in his, showing her how to make a fist in a way she wasn’t familiar with, then pressed it to his throat. “Hit him here, hard as you can. You are small so they will try to overpower you with their mass. If you cannot reach them with your hand, bite them here. Or, claw their eyes out.”

She stared down at him, shocked. “Dimitri, no one is going to hurt me.”

A shudder wracked him and he wrapped his arms around her, pressing his wet face to her belly. “I will make sure of it.”

Comforting him as best she could, she stroked his damp hair. “Really, I’ll be okay. I have a great security system, a license to carry a concealed weapon, and I’m pretty good at keeping track of my surroundings.”

He looked up at her. “You have gun?”

“Yep. I got a concealed permit after one of my co-workers was mugged on the way home from work.”

His grip on her waist tightened. “You live in dangerous place?”

“What? No. I mean yeah. Buffalo has its share of crime, but it’s pretty safe. I mean bad stuff happens to people everywhere, no matter where you live. My house is more out in the country than the city. At the moment my greatest threat is that one of my neighbor’s pet goats will escape and eat my lawn.”

He didn’t laugh at her lame attempt at humor. “I will get you bodyguard.”

She stared at him. “Are you insane? I don’t need a bodyguard. Besides, my step-dad would shit a brick if I suddenly started walking around with some stranger following me.”

He pressed his face against her again, his body as hard as stone with tension. “Is impossible for me not to protect you.”

Grabbing his hair, she pulled his head back hard enough to make anger spark in his gaze. “Dimitri, nothing is going to happen to me. It’s you I worry about. Your life is so dangerous.”

“Don’t you know? I am evil man. Evil men live forever. It is the good that die early. That is the bitter truth of my world.”

“Oh, Dimitri.” She put all her love for him into her touch her voice. “You are so good it makes my heart ache.”

“Is not true, but I like who I am in your mind.”

He stood and took her hand, leading her back into the bedroom. The sheets of the bed were rumpled so she straightened them as best she could before laying down. Instead of joining her, he simply stared at her for a moment before saying, “Close your eyes.”

She did as he asked and the bed dipped as he joined her. When something cool touched her throat she startled and went to open her eyes, but he said in a stern voice. “Keep hands down and eyes closed.”

A thrill of desire went through her at his dominant tone and she couldn’t help but smile. “Why is it when you get bossy with me I find it hot, but when anyone else tries it I have the overwhelming need to put them in their place?”

His fingers touched her ear and she startled as he put an earring in her left ear, then her right. “Because you know I am your Master.”

“What are you doing?”

“Hush, little Rya. Is something I have dreamed of doing. Indulge me.”

A moment later something cool, a bracelet maybe, went around her left wrist, then her right.

His lips brushed against hers as he whispered, “Something to remember me by.”

As she opened her eyes she held up her wrists and gasped. Two beautifully made cuffs with a swirling gold and silver pattern glittered on her wrist. She looked closer and made a choked sound. “Holy shit, Dimitri, are those diamonds?”

“Da. Is yellow and white diamonds. Reminds me of your eyes.”

Unable to comprehend what had to be a small fortune adorning her wrists, she leapt up from the bed and raced to the bathroom, turning on the light then freezing as she got a look at the choker around her neck. Large, yellow square shaped diamonds surrounded by white baguette diamonds formed a circle around her throat, going all the way around. A sparkle from her ear caught her attention and she shoved her hair back, gasping at the exquisite yellow and white diamond earrings. They were shaped like flowers and glittered with the brilliance found only in high quality diamonds.

She wasn’t sure how long she stood there, gaping at the jewelry worth more than she’d make in fifty years as a nurse, before Dimitri came up behind her, distractingly nude, and rested his head atop of hers while wrapping his arms beneath her breasts.
