“Oh, I’m very real.” She wiggled against him with a happy sigh. “You feel so good inside of me.”
He fucked her slowly to orgasm and as she coasted down she was sure that there was no price she wouldn’t pay for the privilege of being in his arms.
Chapter Twenty Four
Guilt tried to intrude on Rya’s extreme joy at getting outside of the building she’d been stuck in for over a solid week. Her bodyguard, Maks, had finally let his guard down a bit and while he was in the bathroom, he used to pee with the door open, but for once, he closed it, she’d taken that opportunity to don her heels and slip out the door. On the way out she’d grabbed the lovely mink coat Dimitri had provided her with. He explained that it was his mother’s and her heart had melted at the warm look in his eyes when she put it on. The jacket was pure decadence and she loved rubbing her fingers over it.
Or at least she did on the one occasion she’d been outside since she arrived.
It had only been for about ten minutes, long enough for Rya to get into Dimitri’s car so they could go have dinner at Alex’s house. She was going absolutely stir crazy but Dimitri wasn’t letting her out of his sight. Oh, he’d provided her with every kind of entertainment and luxury available, but she needed to go outside before she suffocated. She felt weird when Gia went to work while she was forced to stay in the apartment.
When Dimitri was home she could care less, but when she was alone she was…lonely. And homesick. Talking to her bodyguards and enlisting them to start to teach her Russian helped keep her mind busy, but they were all stern and professional. Usually it was just her chatting to herself while they grunted or laughed every once in a while. Maks talked to her more than any of the others and she felt bad for betraying him, but desperate to get some fresh air.
So when the doors to the elevator opened she slipped inside and let out a sigh of relief. As she descended her heart raced and she looked forward to exploring the enclosed, guarded grounds of the building. There was a lovely pond she could see from the apartment that was kept ice-free by constantly flowing water. At night, the lovely fountain in the center was illuminated by LED lights and she loved to watch the shifting colors.
She just wanted to breathe fresh air, and for a few moments, feel like the world wasn’t closing in on her.
The doors opened and she did a quick scan around the lobby. The only other tenant there was Mrs. Landry from three floors above. She was an American ex-pat, the widowed wife of an American diplomat who chose to stay in Russia after her husband’s death. She was a little crazy and had nine small, yippy dogs, but Rya liked her. Especially right now when one of her dogs was taking a crap on the pristine marble floor of the foyer. That provided the distraction Rya needed to walk down the hallway leading to the fountain. She passed the spa on the left, and the bar on the right, before exiting the massive glass doors to the garden.
It was colder than she expected for this time of year, and she instantly regretted not having boots. The pathway was swept clean of any snow, but walking around in high heels in this weather was not smart. She gathered her coat around herself and turned her face to the sun, letting out a deep sigh. If someone had told her how much she would chafe from being confined indoors a month ago she’d have laughed at them. But now she realized she needed her freedom, at least more than she had now. She loved Dimitri and knew her situation was serious, but this building had crazy good security…and she had bodyguards.
At the thought of security, she quickened her step, knowing Maks would find her, and when he did, he would be pissed, and so would Dimitri. So, she wasn’t going to waste her precious time out here worrying. Better to apologize than ask permission.
The sound of the fountain lured her further into the garden and she tried to imagine what it would look like in the spring. There were rose bushes everywhere and she imagined this place smelled divine in the summer; she looked forward to sitting in one of the grassy areas and reading.
Her thoughts were so preoccupied with the vivid image of a warm summer’s day she didn’t notice she wasn’t alone.
She’d reached the pond by this point and stood on the edge of the concrete, loving the sparkle of the snow around the water. This green space was a little slice of heaven in the middle of Moscow, a natural place where she could reconnect with the earth. It sounded stupid, but she was a country girl at heart and she missed the solitude of her home. But when she imagined being her with Dimitri, holding his hand while they strolled the gardens, she couldn’t help but smile.
“Ms. DeLuca?”
