Dangerous Secrets (Montana Men #6)(35)

"Shh," he soothed, his body pressing deeper into her heat. "Just relax, Halley," he told her, a promise to his voice.

Shaking her head, she tried to tell him no, but his hands captured her head as he lowered his own to kiss her. His tongue invaded her mouth as his erection invaded her body, and both had a serious impact on her equilibrium.

Pressing against him, her body already craving that release despite the fact that she'd just climaxed in his arms once. It didn't matter. Not the way Mike was moving inside of her. It was amazing. Shocking. Almost embarrassing how much she needed him.

And trusted him. Relaxing into his arms, she pressed her legs against his hips, lifting herself up to meet each of his thrusts. Each time he pressed into her, he took her higher, her body following along to his unspoken commands. It was all she could do to hold onto his massive shoulders and breathe, gasping for air as she desperately surged against him.

Clinging to him, she felt her body swell, her need rise up and she stared into his eyes, silently begging him to help her as he'd done last night.

Without needing to say the words, Mike knew what she was asking and thanked heaven that she was so close! He was struggling to hold back, to give her the release she needed. So he pulled back slightly and, with the pad of his thumb, pressed against that nubbin that he loved so much. Being careful because he knew she was extra sensitive, he rode with the rhythm he'd already established and, after only a few more thrusts into her perfect body, she was crying out, clinging to him with her body as her release tore through her. Just a few more thrusts and Mike was right there with her, holding her as close as possible as the waves of pleasure crashed over the two of them.

Trying hard not to crush Halley, Mike tumbled to the side, pulling her close as they both tried to catch their breath.

Staring up at the ceiling, he pressed her hand against his chest with his own, needing her touch. Needing her.

The question was, how was he going to get her to admit that she needed him as well?

Chapter 9

Mike drove through town and headed out to Halley's place, unaware of the grim expression on his normally rugged features. After another long night of the most incredible sex he'd ever imagined, Halley had left this morning, telling him she had chores to do.

Reluctantly, he'd driven her back to the grocery store to get her own vehicle, thinking she'd be over at her parent's house. But he'd already driven there and she'd left after feeding and exercising the horses. Charlie had said something about playing with the dogs too, but Halley's father wasn't able to tell Mike where she'd gone after that.

He'd called Vince, Joe, Fleur, and even Kelsie, trying to track her down. But no one had seen her for hours.

Now he was late and angry, worried about Halley and not sure what to do about her. He'd talk to his sister, get her perspective on what might be going on. And maybe Annabelle could give him some insight. His niece was twelve years old now and mature beyond her years. His hands tightened on the steering wheel, just thinking about his beautiful niece starting to date. He almost groaned at the idea, and there were three of them! All beautiful, all precocious, and every one of them too trusting.

Boys should never be trusted, he thought, his eyes automatically scanning the horizon, always on alert for trouble, things that looked "off", or just anything that might catch his attention.

Boys should be off-limits until his nieces were thirty. He knew that any daughters he and Halley created together would never date. A convent would be good! Yeah, he could put them into a convent when they started to show any interest in boys.

Mike wondered how Charlie was handling the idea of Fleur and Halley dating. In the next moment, he realized how sexist his thinking was. Why was he so desperate to protect his nieces? Sex was a natural part of life. Theoretically, he should be encouraging his nieces to find a man that they could be comfortable with and enjoy.

But he wouldn't. No way in hell. He accepted that he was an old-fashioned kind of guy. He didn't want Halley looking at another man and he didn't want his nieces dating. At all. He knew how the male mind worked. Hell, he knew all the different things he wanted to do to Halley. No way was he allowing another man to think along those lines with his nieces.

He was going to have to talk with his sister about his nieces dating. He knew that Annabelle wasn't dating anyone at the moment. At least, not that Sally knew about. But it wouldn't be long.

And where the hell was Halley? Why wasn't she answering his calls?

The whole ninety minute drive into Billings was torturous. He had too much time on his hands, too much time to worry about Halley, his nieces, his sister, and what might be going on with Halley's mysterious disappearances.
