“A curious cat,” Shaney said wryly.
Hudson smirked and nodded. “My curious cat.”
Shaney gave Hudson a lopsided grin, and, damn if it didn’t feel as if Hudson had been made just for him—or was it the other way around? Didn’t matter. They would be together and live a semi-normal life. The power Shaney had would never see the light of day again, if he could help it. No one would ever know what he was capable of, or use him for their agenda. He’d live with the love of his life. Maybe he could work with Hudson...or maybe not. Although power tools shouldn’t be an issue anymore. Still, probably best to get different job. Maybe he could go back to school, get a degree in... something. And, maybe someday, he and Hudson could even get married. That thought sent a happy shudder through his core.
“What are you thinking about?” Hudson asked, threading their fingers together and kissing the back of Shaney’s hand.
Shaney sighed contentedly. “Thinking about this...about us. How right this is. How it’s...” Shaney struggled to find the right word.
Hudson cocked a brow. “Perfect?”
Shaney smiled wide and leaned down, placing a gentle kiss on Hudson’s lips. “Yes, love, perfect.”
