And he wanted more.
“Holy shit, I don’t know if I can walk. I can’t believe I came that fast.” Cooper grabbed the arm of the couch. Noah couldn’t help but smirk.
“I think I’m pretty damn good at that, too.”
He was surprised, when Cooper ran his hand through Noah’s hair. “Pretty damn good doesn’t even begin to cover it.”
The look in Cooper’s eyes was soft, expressive, in a way Noah wasn’t sure he’d ever seen Coop look at him. “I’ve had practice.” He tried to make a joke, but Cooper groaned.
“Don’t remind me. I had my first case of jealousy not too long ago, when you brought that guy home. I think I’d like to pretend this is new for both of us.”
Noah stood, trying not to overthink the comment. Hell, they’d only been messin’ around with each other for a day now. The last thing he wanted to do was to start making this into something it wasn’t. Getting emotionally involved probably wouldn’t end well, which wasn’t usually something he had to worry about. The only person he’d ever been semi-serious about was David, and that relationship had lasted over a year.
But then, this was Cooper. They’d always been emotionally vested, in one way or another. How could he shut that off?
Bending over, Cooper pulled up his clothes. Noah grabbed his sweats but didn’t put them on.
“It’s early, but I’m tired. You comin’ up?” Cooper asked.
Noah let bed distract him from his previous thoughts. “Yeah.” He walked over and hit the button on the TV.
“We can get this mess in the morning.” Coop nodded toward the food, and then headed for the stairs, turning off lights as they went. When they hit the landing, Noah turned to go into his room. Coop surprised Noah by asking, “We’re sleeping in there?”
Noah just assumed they were sleeping in their own rooms. He would put money on the fact that the woman who’d been here the other night wouldn’t have slept in his bed till morning. “It was only this morning you told me we’d be normal and if things happened, they happened,” Noah clarified. He was pretty sure sleeping in the same bed every night, put things on a different level.
“Yeah, and a few minutes ago, I had your dick in my mouth. Considering the fact that we live together, I’m thinking that means we’re okay to sleep together. I mean, won’t that make it easier if I want to do it again?” Cooper grinned, a dimple under his mouth showing. That was always the smile he used to get his way.
But if they were doing this, Noah needed him to understand a few things. He took a step toward Cooper, then another. His friend didn’t back down.
“If this is happening, we need to get a few things straight. I don’t share, Coop. Especially not you. If I’m going to be in your bed at night, that means no one else is ever there until one of us tells the other this isn’t what we want. I’m not pushing you to get into a relationship with me, because I know this is new for you, but I also don’t want anyone else’s hands on you until after you say we’re done. I don’t care if it’s a woman or not. Is that something you can handle?”
Noah could tell Coop almost gave him a sarcastic reply, but then his blue eyes softened. He knew exactly why Noah was making sure he understood this. Maybe he didn’t know about David, but he knew about Noah’s mom.
“You know I’d never play games with you, man.”
Maybe not intentionally, but from Coop’s own mouth he knew every sexual relationship Cooper had came with an expiration date, only typically, they came with the understanding up front that either person wasn’t tied to the other. And even if they didn’t, it wasn’t like Cooper would ever get serious with another man.
“But it goes both ways. I won’t share you, either.”
Noah chuckled at that. “I have a feeling you’re going to be hard enough to handle.”
Coop returned his smile, and pushed Noah toward Coop’s bedroom.
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
“I don’t think this back room is big enough for me to work.” Noah looked around the small space. There was a possibility he could make it work, but it wasn’t what he wanted.
“I was wondering about that.” Cooper stepped up beside him. “I mean, there’s a lot of surface with the counter all the way around the room but I don’t know how much of that you need. The room is small and it doesn’t leave you much ground in the middle.”
Noah sighed. This was the third and last place they had to look at. Blackcreek was a small town so there weren’t a lot of options. Sure he could go closer to Denver, but he also didn’t want his business too far away from home. “I guess I didn’t really think about shit like this when I packed up and came home.” He shook his head. “If I look closer to Denver, I should probably look for a house there as well.”
