Claiming Red: The O'Connell Family(12)
Chapter 8: Samantha
He is dragging me through the house and out the back. He hurried me into the garage and into his truck. I was trying not to freak out. I remembered that voice. It was the one my mom had spoken to that day, the grey-haired old man, who was supposed to be my date.
What the fuck was going on?! He had drove out quietly and with the lights off. Once we had gotten out of the gate and down the street, he turned the lights on. It was two miles into our drive when he stopped and sent a text to someone.
“What the hell is going on?” The only response he gave me, was to kiss me with the lips that I could not take my eyes off all night. It was the most amazing kiss I had ever had in my short life. My heart was already pounding from the voice, but his kiss made me feel like my heart was going to pop out of my chest. Truth be told, I had a few kisses over the years, but this was magnetic, amazingly perfect. His lips felt hot and needy as they caressed mine. His mouth was begging for entry and with a moan he had gotten in. I hadn’t even realized that it was my moan. His kisses short circuited my brain; all I could think about was getting closer to him. I was trying to crawl over into his seat and into his lap. I tried to undo my seatbelt and that is when he put a halt to our make out session. What the hell?! Damn it! He got me again. He had so much control. Maybe it was because I was, so inexperienced that it was not as good for him as it was for me.
I watched him as he adjusted his pants and smiled; he had been just as affected as I was. I sat in my seat afraid to move because he would be able to hear the squishy sound of my juices leaking on to his leather seats.
“Fuck Red, you pack a serious punch.” A truck was starting to get closer, so he pulled out and continued on before the truck could pass us. I was so mesmerized by our first kiss that I had forgotten about the voice until he started asking questions.
“Tell me, what do you know of my uncle, John O’Connell?” He was harsh, now.
“Nothing. Why?” I don’t know why he was being mean all of the sudden.
“So you have never heard of the gangster before?”
“Oh my, that John O’Connell, you are related to him?” I couldn’t hide my repulsion, and completely regretted right away, when I had seen Rick’s dismay.
“Yes, I am. So you’ve never heard your parent’s mention him? Tell me the truth. I won’t hold anything back from you, but you have to tell me the truth.”
“I really don’t know him, but the voice earlier, I am assuming is his. It is that voice I know.” He continued to drive as I proceeded to tell him what had happened, the day I ran away. His face was turning redder by the moment and his knuckles whiter as he gripped the steering wheel tighter.
“Roger, get the plane ready and the package I got from Daley. Yes, will be there in an hour.” I looked at him like he was fucking crazy.
“Baby, my father told me that my uncle is still looking for you, the deal was for when you turned eighteen.”
“Oh my god, that’s in two days!” I blanched, completely frightened.
“Don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to you. I will try and make it the best birthday you have ever had.” He held my hand again as we drove. It calmed my fear, but did funny things to my heart. Somehow, I trusted him. I felt safe with him.
“I have to call Brady, he will be worried. Where are we going?” I didn’t want him to worry about me.
“Don’t worry about it baby; you’ll see when we get there.” He was so confident, did he get that way with age or was he born a bad ass. I just stared at his profile. His chin was strong, his brow manly and his nose a little big. He had all the features of a man born to be hardcore. My heart was doing flips from just staring at him.
“Baby, are you okay?” I had realized I had been silent for five minutes. I think I might be in love.
“I am fine, but I don’t have anything with me to go on a trip. Can we stop at my place?”
“Yeah baby, but we have to be quick.” He kissed my cheek and continued to drive. As soon as we got to my apartment we packed my bag and just as we were about to walk out he kissed me again. Oh my, the man is going to make me drunk on his kisses. Then we heard the lock and he pushed me behind him.
“Samantha, you home?” Brady was home. Good I wanted to give him a big hug before I left and I needed to give him some money. He had been so helpful to me since my mother had tried to sell me.
“Who are you?” Uh oh, he was not kind to any guy I tried to date. He was almost like a big brother.
“Umm. This is Rick.” I was so nervous. They were both big guys and I didn’t want either of them to get hurt.
