Cash's Fight(103)

By:Jamie Begley

“I’ll pick her up and bring her home. I’ll even fix dinner.” Her shock had him laughing. “Even I can get a bucket of chicken on the way home.”

“All right.”

Cash stood on the porch, watching until she pulled out of the lot. His phone ringing had him reaching into his pocket.

“Cash.” Viper’s voice over the phone sent warning signals off. “We have a big problem.”

Cash heard a muffled reply when he knocked on the door. Opening it, he followed behind Viper.

Drake Hall was sitting behind the desk of his realty company with an ice pack to his badly bruised face. “You could have warned me they would get violent when I refused to sell them the property.”

“We didn’t know. They’ve shown no overt physical violence to draw attention to themselves,” Viper justified his lack of foresight.

“Well, they sure as shit weren’t trying to be inconspicuous when four of them ganged up on me,” Drake replied sarcastically.

“When the coach refused to sell to them in Jamestown, they didn’t get violent,” Cash spoke up for his president.

“They got pretty pissed at me when I told them no. Next time I do your club a favor, I’ll pack my Glock.” Drake laid down the ice pack, showing his busted lip and two black eyes. His bloody nose didn’t look much better.

“We owe you one,” Viper conceded.

Drake leaned back in his chair with a self-satisfied smile. “I’m counting on it.”

Viper shot him a dark look. “I’ll place a couple of the brothers on you for protection.”

“Don’t bother.” Drake opened his desk drawer and pulled out a gun, placing it on his desk. “That’s all the protection I need. The next time they come near me, I’ll blow their fucking brains out and ask questions later. They threatened Jace if I told anyone. They shouldn’t have threatened my son.”

“Give us a call. Don’t try to take them on by yourself.”

“I won’t have to. You’ll hear the police sirens when they do,” Drake promised ruthlessly.

Cash and Viper left Drake, still vowing to whip Scorpion’s ass.

They walked to their bikes before talking.

“They didn’t touch the coach but beat the hell out of Drake.” Viper got on his bike, looking at Cash as he got on his. He paused before starting the motor.

“They’re getting ready to make their move,” Cash acknowledged what Viper was thinking. Hell was getting ready to break loose, either in Jamestown or Treepoint.

“Send for the brothers in Ohio. Tell them to haul ass. Let Stud know the shit is getting ready to hit the fan,” Viper gave his orders.

Cash listened, taking mental notes. “I’ll tell everyone to be on alert. They’ll be ready to move.”

“Everyone but Shade; I want him with the women.” Viper started his motor.

Cash started his, also, taking his place beside Viper as they headed home.

“We going to the clubhouse tonight?” Cash asked, getting ready to go out the door Friday morning.

Rachel hesitated cleaning the breakfast plates in the sink. They had spent the last three nights at his grandmother’s house. He had deliberately waited to ask her about tonight, as if it was an afterthought. He was leaving the decision to her.

“I’ll meet you there at nine. There’s something I need to take care of first.” Rachel looked at him over her shoulder, seeing her answer had pleased him.

“See you then.”#p#分页标题#e#

“Cash?”

Her voice stopped him. “Yeah?”

“Bye.”

He walked back to her, bending down to give her a gentle kiss that was unlike any he had given her before. “Bye, vixen.”

With a wink, he was gone.

When Rachel sighed, Mag’s laughter startled her.

“Girl, you got it bad.”

“No, I don’t.” Rachel began to deny the truth, but Mag was already shaking her head.

“I’ve already been where you are. Keep the fight up until you have him exactly where you want him.”

“And exactly where is that?”

“With your foot right on his balls.”

Rachel sat in the parking lot, staring at the glass window and the customers inside. She wanted to change her mind. She’d almost started her car twice to drive back out of the lot.

“You going to sit there all day, or get your ass out of the car?” Killyama asked, coming to her car window. Rachel had been concentrating on Sex Piston’s beauty shop for so long she hadn’t noticed Killyama parking behind her.

“Yes.” Rachel cleared her throat. “Yes, I am.” This time, she sounded more decisive as she got out of her car and went in the shop with Killyama on her heels.
