“That’s more like it motherfucker, let’s dance.” I posed up and waited for his next move, which wasn’t long in coming.
I dodged both his throws and let him get the third in for good measure. If shit went south I needed to at least look like I was in a fight and not just a bully picking on this piece a shit.
I took the shot to the chest that barely moved me on my feet, but seemed to give him enough confidence to lose his mind and actually believe that he could take me.
He led with that confidence and caught my fist in his mouth. I had to jump out of the way of the blood spray. The owner or manager or whoever the fuck was starting to make noise about destroying his place and calling the cops, but I left that to my boys to handle while I finished him off.
One more shot to the gut was pretty much all it took to put him down again. I think I was more pissed that he wasn’t much of a challenge than anything else.
I lifted him by his neck and leaned over so I could speak low in his ear and be sure that he heard what the fuck I was about to say to him.
“For the rest of your miserable life I want you to remember that her life is a fucking dream. I’m gonna give her everything in this world that you and your little boy trust fund could never afford.
We’re gonna have a beautiful life with our children in our little corner of the world, and everyday I’m gonna erase you little by little until you’re not even a bad memory. If you ever enter my state, I don’t care if it’s another city, I will know and you will never make it out alive.”
I dragged his beat to shit ass outside where I caught sight of her in the front passenger seat of the lead truck. I didn’t hit him in front of her though, just dropped his pulverized ass on the sidewalk and stepped over him.
That was so that her last sight of him was his defeat. No more monster. She jumped out of the truck and ran to me.
“I’m all good beautiful let’s get the hell out of here, he wasn’t even a snack.”
“Well shit, we’d better find a bull for you to ride to release some of that shit, you know how you get boss.”
“Thanks Jonah, but I don’t think so.” I had something else in mind for all my excess energy.
Chapter 26
No one said much of anything when we left for the nearest town over and our hotel. We could’ve probably flown back tonight but I wasn’t sure how safe that was for her or my child to be travelling back and forth by plane like that, so we had reservations at the best place they had to offer.
I let Mikey drive while I sat in back with my arms wrapped around her protectively. There was a shit storm going on inside me, shit I didn’t even know was in me, but it’ll keep.
I didn’t ask if she was hungry when we headed straight for the dining room after checking in, I just knew it had been a while since she’d eaten and it was time.
By the third time she looked at me worriedly I knew my face was giving her pause. The tic in my jaw was about the only give away that something was going on with me, but not by word or deed did I let on to what that something was.
My boys knew me well enough to leave me alone with my mood, but this was the first time she’d seen me after a fight and it was scaring her a little bit I think.
There wasn’t shit I could tell her to ease her angst, because chances are before the night was done, she was going to experience some shit under me that might put fear in her. Hopefully she was ready to handle my shit, because what the fuck! She’s my woman, who else is gonna handle it?
I was so deep into my own head that I ordered for her without asking when the waiter came over, and I think I fed her most of her food from my own fork.
I ate my steak without tasting it, and thankfully, by the time I’d reached my boiling point, she was about done eating.
“You done?”
“Yes...Caleb...?” She gave me that worried look again.
“Shh, leave it; let’s go. I’ll see you guys in the morning, if you go out in this bumfuck town please try not to get arrested I want out of this fuck as soon as the sun rises.”
“Boss, you good?”
“Never better.”
“Maybe...”
“Leave it Diego we’re good.” I knew they were all watching me like, when is he going to detonate? And were probably wondering if it was safe to leave her alone with me, but they knew enough to know that she was the safest person in my world right now.
I took her hand and pulled her up from the table and headed up to our room without another word.
I held her hand tightly in mine as we made our way down the hallway.
My dick was already starting to leak in my jeans; he knew what was coming. My heart raced in my chest with anticipation.
