“You’re fucking lucky, Cain,” Tuck said, his words slightly slurring. “You got all the shit in the world now. Makes a brother jealous.”
Cain looked at Tuck, and knew where the man’s thoughts were without hearing the words. He wanted that new girl that was staying at the club, Jana Cain thought her name was. Cain glanced at the back area, but didn’t see her. In fact, he hadn’t seen her since last night, right before she’d gone to pick up her son. “If you want her more than just a wet slit to slide your dick in, then hit it up.”
Tuck scrubbed a hand over his face. “Nah, I would be no good to an old lady. Hell, I party too much as it is, like the raunchy kind of sex, and what woman wants to be strapped to a fucking mug like mine?” Tuck ran a hand over his scar and chuckled humorlessly. And even if the other man was trying to make light of it, there was this gruffness to his voice that couldn’t be hidden from Cain. But if Tuck didn’t want to talk about it that was okay with Cain because it wasn’t his fucking business. He had his old lady, had a healthy daughter, a baby on the way, and a brotherhood of men that were his family despite them not sharing blood.
Pierce walked over to Fallina, and Cain stiffened.
“Relax, man,” Tuck said. “Pierce has been going to that titty bar across town to see some stripper he’s gotten hard-up for.”
That had Cain relaxing marginally, especially when Fallina kept a good distance from the member. Violet walked over to him, the dress she wore long, loose, and the material flowing around her body. She was hot as hell, and all his.
“Hey, baby.” He grabbed her around the waist and pulled her forward. She was on his lap, her ass big and plump, and his cock hardened instantly.
“I can feel that,” she whispered by his ear.
“Yeah, you can.”
She started chuckling softly, and he cupped her chin in a firm hold and placed his lips on hers. He didn’t care who in the hell saw him giving lovin’ to his woman. He’d do it all day every fucking day, no matter who was around. This woman right here in his lap meant the world to him, and it was because of her that he had gotten his head out of his ass and realized that he could find love, could find comfort. It was because of Violet that he realized there was salvation in the arms of a loving, warm woman, even for a murdering bastard like him.
“Oh God, someone, please. Please help.”
Cain turned and looked at Bobbie, who came out of the clubhouse with Jana’s little boy in her arms. She was crying, her short black hair with platinum streaks a wild mess around her face, as if she had been running frantically through the clubhouse. Cain set Violet on the ground gently, and pulled her close. He stared at Bobbie as she rushed up to Lucien and Callie, started talking adamantly, then broke down and started crying. She held the little boy tighter, and collapsed on the ground. Lucien looked fierce, said something to Callie, and Cain watched as the old lady of the MC gathered the women and ushered them inside. He pushed Violet toward the clubhouse, not knowing what in the hell was going on, but if the women were being told to go into the safety of the club, Cain knew shit was going down. Lucien gestured for the club members to head inside, and when everyone was in the meeting room Lucien shut the door and swore loudly.
“Prez, what in the fuck is going on?” Tuck asked, the member not acting drunk anymore. In fact, he looked damn near pissed and juiced up with whatever was happening.
Lucien stared at all of them, and finally, when the president of the MC breathed out, the pit in Cain’s stomach twisted with words that hadn’t even been spoken yet.
“Bobbie said Jana was supposed to come by early this morning and pick up her son, but she never came by. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen Jana since last night when she headed outside to make a call.”
The tension in the room grew, as did the angry heat.
“Bobbie came to the club right away when she couldn’t get a hold of Jana, and she knew she should have come already to get her kid.”
“What the fuck is going on then? Where the hell is she?” Tuck was the one to speak, and the other members looked at him. Cain saw the raw energy and confusion in the scarred member’s face, knew that for as much as Tuck might deny he wanted something more with the woman he wasn’t being honest with himself or others.
“I don’t know what the fuck is going on, but we’ll find out. Jana may have only been helping the club for a few months, but she is under our protection and we’ll find out where in the hell she is.”
There was a deep murmur of agreement throughout the room.
“And we’ll take down anyone that thought they could take something or someone from this club,” Tuck said, and the energy ratcheted up a degree.
