“Tired?” James asked as he caught her watching him.
“No. Not even a little. But I’ll let you put me to bed.”
Vincent chuckled and said, “Not much sleeping is happening in this bed tonight, I don’t think.”
Her reply was forgotten as they both straightened and approached her, unbuttoning their shirts.
“My ‘something old,’” she said as she carefully placed the comb, which had been her mother’s, and the veil in James’s hands.
James laid them aside for her and stood in front of her, caressing her bare collarbones and her throat. A tiny smile bowed his lips as he leaned down a little and kissed her as Vincent drew close behind her, his callused hands raked lightly over her shoulder blades, making her shudder. His lips were warm on her shoulder as he undid the small buttons that lined the back of her simple, strapless satin wedding gown.
“My ‘something new,’” she murmured before drawing a shuddering breath as his hands worked their way down.
She’d wanted something with sleeves but Grace and Presley Ann had cajoled her into the strapless just for grins and she’d known it was the one the second she set eyes on herself in the mirror.
The princess seams and plain bodice drew the eyes upward and instead of cutting her hair back to her usual pixie style, she’d had Danielle at Madeleine’s give her a simple updo and then had set the ensemble off with the comb and the veil. It’d been perfect. She’d known that because James and Vincent had both been teary-eyed by the time she’d reached them at the makeshift altar before the grand fireplace in the ballroom of the Hourglass Inn.
Reaching behind her, she unclasped the double stranded choker of pearls that Presley Ann had loaned to her that morning. “My ‘something borrowed.’” The pearls had been left to Presley Ann by her mother and Leah knew they were one of her most prized possessions, which had made the surprise offering even sweeter.
She gasped as Vincent raked his teeth lightly over her shoulder and she felt the tug of the zipper in the back of the dress and he lowered it. “What have we here?” he murmured as he slid his hot hands inside the dress and his fingertips slid over the white satin and lace of her bustier.
She would’ve been perfectly content buying lingerie at Stigall’s but Grace had taken one look at the selection of bridal lingerie in plus sizes they offered, shook her head, and said, “You deserve to at least see a better selection than this. I’m taking you shopping.” Leah had balked at the idea because she knew her friend already had her hands full but Grace had chuckled and said, “Jack and Adam are giving Rose Marie riding lessons today and Ethan took Grant to his parents’ house for the day. I don’t have any pressing deadlines so don’t worry about it anymore. It’s not like shopping at Discretion is a hardship or anything.”
They’d made the trip out to Summer Webster and Margot Redman’s naughty little boutique in Morehead. After taking her measurements, Summer had helped her and Grace pick out items for Leah to try on. A few hours later, Leah was outfitted not only for the wedding but also for the honeymoon and for everyday lingerie as well. Lingerie shopping had never been so much fun.
A shudder rippled up her spine when Vincent’s voice rasped in her ear as he slid a finger down the blue satin ribbons at the lace-up back of her sexy garter belt. “I think I found her ‘something blue.’ Damn.” He growled softly as he slid his hands into the dress and eased the bodice down so James could see.
A full, gorgeous smile broke over James’s face and his sensual green eyes hooded with interest as he stared at her, dressed in her sexy lingerie.
“Damn,” he said, echoing Vincent as the dress slipped to the floor in a satiny puddle, revealing the white lace-edged stockings she wore with the garters. She’d felt gorgeous in the wedding gown on her big day, but standing in front of the men she adored with all her heart, clad only in her luxurious lingerie, she felt truly beautiful. Love and desire radiated from their eyes as she looked between them and she reached up to stroke their cheeks, glorying in the moment. Grace had told her she’d be glad she invested in something besides just the limited basics at the department store. She’d said Leah deserved more.
Another gasp was torn from her as Vincent knelt behind her and kissed the back of her thigh, right below her ass cheek, and he murmured, “Step out of the gown, fluff, and I’ll put it away for you. Get comfortable.”
A rumbly sound came from deep in James’s chest as she stepped away from the gown, still wearing her bridal pumps. “Damn, I like that even better, honey.”
