She bumped her head against the door in frustration. She knew she couldn’t stay in there all day. In fact, Steve would be opening the store soon and she was supposed to be out there waiting. Tessa stepped back and unlocked the door, cracking it just enough to be sure it was just Kelly out there waiting on her. When she saw that it was, Tessa opened the door and stepped out.
“I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to upset you. The only people who know are Steve, Ben, me, Marx, and Jackson. The only reason we know is that Tag asked Marx to open the shop for him this morning so someone could drop off their bike early on their way to work. He told Marx that he’d worked late last night and didn’t think he’d make it in early enough. Marx had already made plans to be in town at six to drop off a calf at the vet, so Tag knew he could do it for him.” Kelly’s hurried explanation still didn’t explain how they knew she’d stayed the night with them.
“That still doesn’t explain how you knew I was at their house, Kelly.”
Kelly grinned. “Well, Marx asked him why he couldn’t stumble downstairs in his boxers and unlock the damn door for the guy then lock it back and go back to bed. He said ‘you do live above the shop you know’. Tag growled at him. Really! He did. I heard him over the phone because I was sitting on him at the time.” Kelly’s face turned red. “Well, never mind about that. Anyway, Tag told him that he and Zander had finally convinced you to move in with them and he’d already fucked up and needed to make it up to you. So what did he do?”
Tessa just stared at the woman for a few seconds. “Um, why were you sitting on Marx?” she asked instead.
Kelly narrowed her eyes at her. “I think that’s between the two of us.”
“Ditto, sweetie. Ditto,” she said with a smug smile.
Kelly rolled her eyes. “Bitch. Now I’m not going to tell you my secret.”
Tessa bit her lip, dying to know what Kelly thought was secret worthy if her living with two men wasn’t it. Finally she sighed and gave in.
“He started off right away trying to take over everything and tell me what to do. No one is going to run my life again. They sort of pushed some buttons that got me upset in the process,” she admitted. She wasn’t about to tell Kelly about the basement incident. That was something she didn’t want anyone else to ever know about.
Kelly chuckled. “Men are terrible about doing that sort of thing, especially Doms, and you know Tag and Zander are Doms, Tessa. Giving orders is in their blood.”
“I know, but there are some things I won’t tolerate. We’ve still got some things to work out. Now what’s your secret?” Ever since they had gotten married and taken a week off to some undisclosed location, Kelly was seldom seen without her men surrounding her.
“Is it about where you went for your honeymoon? Was it a tropical island?” she asked.
“Hmm, maybe I’ll tell you about that another time. No, this is something that no one knows yet, not even my guys. So you have to keep it a secret until I tell them,” she said.
Tessa’s mouth flew open then slammed shut. “Really? A baby?” she whispered in excitement.
Kelly smiled and nodded. “I just found out this morning. I haven’t been to the doctor yet to be sure. I wanted to wait a few more days until my appointment with the doc. They’re going with me since they can’t seem to stand the idea of another man seeing me naked even if he is married with grown children.”
Tessa chuckled. “Living with them has to be interesting with all those handsome cowboys working for them.”
Kelly grinned. “Yep. I’ve had to be sure not to stare out the window too often. Jackson has already threatened to fire them all and find nothing but bucktoothed bowlegged old timers if I don’t stop drooling over his help.”
“They’re going to kill you when they figure out that you already knew before them and didn’t share,” Tessa pointed out.
“I know. I can’t wait!” Kelly admitted. “I’m expecting a good spanking.”
“Or, they’ll punish you by not spanking you because they won’t want to hurt you or the baby,” Tessa pointed out with an evil grin.
Kelly frowned and glared at her. “Don’t screw up my plans.” Then she smiled and pulled Tessa into her arms to hug her. “I’m so happy for you.”
“I better get out front. I’m sure Steve is chomping at the bit to open the door and I’m not there to take care of customers.” She stepped out of Kelly’s hug.
“Just remember that you can always call me if you have questions or something is bothering you, Tessa. Living with two men isn’t always easy, especially two Doms. Just remember that they are always trying to take care of you and keep you safe. They don’t mean to be bossy, overbearing assholes on purpose.” Kelly smiled at her. “Give yourself time to adjust to them and them to you.”
