Body Shot (Last Shot)(54)

By:Kelly Jamieson

“I’m going to head home,” she said to him. “I just got so tired all of a sudden.”

His smile vanished. “Thought you were coming to my place.”

“Yeah.” She dropped her gaze to her nearly empty glass. “I don’t know if that’s such a good idea.”

He leaned in and growled, “You thought it was a good idea when I was licking tequila off your hot little body.”

What the fuck? Now she was tired?

Beck eyed Hayden. “Those assholes weren’t telling you more shit stories about me, were they?”

“No!”

“Then what’s the problem?” He paused. “Are you upset because I was talking to those girls?”

“Phhht. Of course not.”

“Good. Because they’re customers.”

“I know that.” She sighed. “I wasn’t jealous. Exactly.”

“What does that mean?”

“I don’t know.” She blew out a breath, her forehead creased. She shoved a hand into her hair and pushed it back off her face. “I told you…I’m not experienced at this. I’ve never had time for this kind of thing and I don’t know how to do it.”

Yeah, he got that. He had plenty of experience when it came to women, but not when it came to actually getting to know a woman. Usually getting to know someone meant finding out whether she liked to swallow or spit. So this was new territory for him too.

Why had he invited her to come here tonight? He’d never done that before. Sometimes girls he knew showed up and hung around, but he’d never asked them to come to the bar. For some strange reason he’d wanted her there, and he’d wanted her to meet Marco and Cade. Even though they were going to bust his balls about it.

As for jealousy…he’d never been jealous. But seeing her the other night with that dumbass had made him want to punch someone. Preferably that dumbass. Because Hayden was his.

Whoa. Back it up, buddy.

She wasn’t his and he wasn’t hers and neither of them had any reason to feel jealousy.

Okay, they just needed to get things back on the right track. The fun track. “Babe. That’s what I’m here for…to show you how to do it. We’re just having fun, right?”

She eyed him. He thought he’d been making progress in teaching her to let loose and live a little bit wild. Tonight it had hardly taken any coaxing to get her to lie down on the bar and let him do a shot off her stomach. But now she was back to straitlaced, buttoned-up, careful Hayden.

He wasn’t sure why he was bothering, because he could easily have one of those chicks at the end of the bar in his bed tonight. If not two of them. He wasn’t used to working that hard to get a girl to go home with him. But for some reason he couldn’t let this go.

Finally she answered, “Right.”

He leaned way over the bar. “I’ve got a bottle of Don Alvaro Extra Añejo we can take turns licking off each other. You know you want to do that.”

Her eyes darkened. “That might be a waste of good tequila.”

“Fuck no. C’mere.” He wiggled his fingers at her.

She leaned closer. Her eyelids had gone heavy and she was breathing a little faster.

He feathered a kiss over her lips. “I’m gonna pour that añejo into the sexy hollow at the base of your spine and sip it from there. And then I’m going to drizzle some between your legs and taste you there too.” He kissed her again, keeping his eyes on hers. “And when you come I’m going to taste that along with the tequila and it’s going to be so fucking good.” Her breath hitched and he smiled. “Let’s go.”

“N-now?”

Satisfaction swelled in his chest. “Now. Grab your purse, gorgeous.”

Hayden had walked from her place, so they both jumped into Beck’s car and made the speedy trip to his place. He pulled into a small garage attached to his condo, the unit a three-story, multi-level building. They entered from the garage and passed through his small utility room into the kitchen.

Hayden looked around, moving toward the spacious living room. “This is really nice.”

“Thanks. It’s decent. I bought it mainly for the view of the bay.” He gestured at the big windows and door onto his patio, though it was dark outside and nothing could be seen.

“Your living room is huge compared to mine.”

It was big enough for two sofas and three armchairs, big brown leather ones arranged in front of the stone fireplace, with ample room to move around them. “Do you want to know where I bought my furniture?”

She shot him a startled glance. “Uh, no…Oh.”

He grinned. “How about a tour of the bedroom?” He held out a hand.
