Billionaires and Baby Rattles(65)

“Is this your chance to prove you can dance?” he joked.

She rolled her eyes at him. “I think I proved that a while ago, sir.”

Her sharp gaze flicked over his form and paused at his crotch. He recalled the night he asked her to dance for him in his room, and his cock swelled. Kenzie was unmatched. Of that, he had no doubt at all.

The band struck up a slow tune, and Easton held out his hand. Kenzie floated into his arms. She rested her head on his chest, and he tucked her close with an arm about her waist. Damn, she felt so good, and her scent filled his nostrils. After their short time together, she was familiar and comfortable. Yet, she entertained him at every turn. He knew he could be arrogant, and she called him on it, even teased him. More than once, she had pissed him off, but he took it all—something he didn’t believe he had ever allowed from another woman.

“Hm, I think,” he murmured above her head, “you move better than I thought. I don’t feel like my toes are in danger.”

“Bastard.” She laughed and slapped his chest. “Tell me the truth.”

He widened his eyes. “I am speaking the truth.”

“Not that. I mean tell me you had fun today. I know you did.”

“It doesn’t compare to the opera.”

She wrinkled her nose. “You like the opera?”

“No, I said it doesn’t compare. Hogs and high notes. I’m just saying.”

She giggled. Something stirred inside him.

“Okay, I admit it. I enjoyed the day. The food wasn’t half bad.”

“Good. So now I can get you to eat my cooking, and you can stop turning your nose up at it.”

“I do not turn my nose up at your food. Besides, I sampled everything you made over the last few days.”

“That was your terrible efforts. I let you taste the real deal the first time, but you haven’t eaten an entire meal I made yet.”

He ran a hand down her cheek and stared into her eyes. Lost there, he forgot to move, and she stilled in his arms. “I offended you, and I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.”

“You would have me believe you’re a changed man, Easton Tremaine?”

“Never.”

“Okay, well let’s go home, and I will cook for you. If you don’t want to insult me again, you have to eat every bite.”

“Haven’t we eaten enough today?”

“No.”

She tried pulling away, but he held on to her, keeping her caught in his embrace. He was hungry all right, but not for food. “Stay. We’ll dance to a few more songs, and then we will go. I will eat whatever you set before me.”

She beamed, and he knew he had made the right decision.

The barbecue chicken melted off the bone, and the flavors teased his palate. He had never had corn on the cob this good, but maybe it had to do with the cook. Easton had given in to her and eaten whatever she placed before him. She said she would keep the meal simple since the hour grew late and they had been out all day. He had seen her fatigue, but she refused his suggestion of getting takeout. After she accused him of going back on his word, he had given in and didn’t regret it.

“Well?” she demanded, hand on her hip.

He leaned back from his plate and dragged a napkin over his mouth. “It’s good. You’re a skilled cook, Kenzie.”

Her mouth fell open. “I can’t believe you admitted it.”

“Not very modest, are you?”

She swatted his shoulder. “I mean you admitted you liked it. I saw the enjoyment in your eyes, and the way you practically swallowed the bones.”

“I did not swallow the bones!”

“Oh, don’t be so sensitive.” She reached for his plate, but he caught her wrist and tugged her to his lap. In her attempt to get free, she rubbed her ass all over his crotch. The swelling there was not his fault, but she pinned him with an accusing stare anyway.

He shrugged. “If you’re going to tease a man, you get what you get.”

“Your sexual appetite can’t be satisfied.”

“I beg to differ.” He nuzzled her neck. “You do a good job of it.”

“Another compliment! I should take you to festivals more often. I mean…well…”#p#分页标题#e#

He ran his hand over her belly and lower before she covered it with her own to stop him. “Well, what?” he prompted.

She ducked her head. He caressed her hand with a thumb.

“This is probably the last day.”

“You don’t know that.”

She twisted on his lap to face him. “I’m confident you’re going to woo the dress off Darby. She’s the one. Gentle, caring, and from what you tell me, she even gets involved with charity work directly.”
