Billionaires and Baby Rattles(22)

By:Dahlia Rose

This time the reporters and the cameras couldn’t get a shot of them because of the seclusion and privacy of the hotel. The suite was amazing, soft white carpets and chic contemporary furniture. She sat in the pure white overstuffed sofa, and soon she was taking up the entire chair by stretching out. She felt like she was cocooned in clouds. Ethan lifted her legs easily and sat down, placing them on his lap. He slipped her shoes off and began to rub her feet. Mya purred like a kitten. She picked up the remote and turned on the TV to catch a bit of the news. Somehow, their wedding had been leaked, and they were a small segment on the news. Mya shook her head. She had to wonder when, or if, the media would ever find them boring enough to leave them alone.

“They’re hoping for pictures from our secret wedding,” Ethan said. “We should sell one and donate the money to charity.”#p#分页标题#e#

“Um, no, these are special and mine. The world doesn’t get to see them,” Mya said with her eyes closed. “But write a check and donate money to charity anyway. That way karma favors us regardless.”

Ethan lifted her foot and kissed her ankle. “Good idea.”

She giggled. “That tickled.”

“If you let me get you out of that dress, I’ll kiss every inch of skin, and we can chart your tickle spots,” he teased and kissed her ankle again.

The news caught her attention once more, and this time she wasn’t happy with what she heard.

“Stunning news from model Analissa Broward, who claims she was also pregnant by Ethan Tremaine and he paid her to terminate the pregnancy. Here is a clip of the interview that will air tonight.”

Mya watched as the gorgeous blonde woman came on the screen. She remembered the face, remembered booking more than one dinner reservation and a trip to Vermont for the couple. She took her leg off Ethan’s lap and sat up.

“Damn it all to hell, really?” He made a move to grab the remote, but Mya held it away. “You don’t need to watch this, Mya.”

She wasn’t listening to him anymore. The French model was speaking.

“Ethan told me he loved me, called me “heart of mine.” As soon as I told him I was pregnant, he gave me one hundred thousand dollars and told me to terminate. I did, thinking he would still be with me, and right after, he stopped calling. Now he’s having a baby with another woman, and my baby is gone. I loved him, and he used me.”

The reporter shook her head when the camera panned back to her.

“Can we believe the accusations from the notorious model against Ethan Tremaine? I wonder if his new wife knows this story and still chose to have a baby with him? Along with that, his stepmother, Lurlene Purdy Tremaine, just filed a police complaint against Ethan Tremaine, claiming he punched her in the face in an altercation two days ago. Here is a picture of her sporting a seriously swollen black eye. Has the playboy become a bad boy, or are we seeing the true colors of the billionaire?”

“Fuck, can I not get a break?” Ethan asked angrily. “When did I have time to assault Lurlene?”

“I know you didn’t,” Mya said softly. “Did you make Analissa terminate her pregnancy?”

That was the question of the hour. Mya knew how she felt about abortion, and to think that Ethan could be so callous was abhorrent to her. Still, he’d used that term of endearment she’d heard only last night.

“No, I did not,” Ethan answered. “Analissa was a junkie and put coke up her nose each and every day instead of eating. She got pregnant. I wasn’t sure it was mine, and if it was, I’d have taken responsibility. But the doctor said the baby wasn’t developing correctly. The addiction, her eating disorder all contributed to it, and he thought it was best she terminate. Analissa did it without my knowledge. The money was to help her get rehab before she killed herself. We broke up because the relationship was toxic, she was toxic, and she used me to enable her habit.”

“You called her ‘heart of mine,’” Mya said numbly and then gave a terse laugh. “I have to wonder if they all heard that when they were in your bed.”

“For a while I thought I loved her.” Ethan ran his hands through his hair. “Jesus, Mya, that was two years ago.”

“Two years ago that you were almost a father, she was your heart of mine, and now here I am,” Mya said, “pregnant and in a position to help you keep everything.”

“I told you in the solarium, Mya, it’s not about the money,” Ethan said darkly.

“Who knows what it’s about? The playboy has many secrets in his closet,” Mya snapped. “Heart of mine, I cannot believe I fell for this again. Kyle, now you. I should doubt Analissa? Or maybe you made her get rid of the baby because you didn’t want to have a disabled child under the Tremaine name.”
