Billionaires and Baby Rattles(21)
“Mr. Tremaine…Ethan,” Kyle tried to implore him.
Ethan pointed at the door and snarled, “Get out of my office before I take the pleasure of throwing you out from security and do it myself.”
Kyle left the room in a rush, and Ethan took great pleasure in watching two burly security guards practically lift him off his feet as he exited. He knew his guys. They would make sure his directions would be followed to the letter. Kyle Bradshaw wouldn’t be able to sneak even staples out of his cubicle before his key card was taken and he was out of the building.
He sat back at his desk and sent his head of security the green light to give the authorities Kyle’s file. He began a search on which reporter Kyle had given the interview to. With his resources, he was able to find out quickly and called up the reporter with a juicy tidbit of his own. Of course, she was going to still run the story—that was what gossipmongers did. But he discredited Kyle and gave her enough information for her to think he was not someone to be believed. By the time he was done, the story twisted in his and Mya’s favor, showing how people were trying to ruin their happiness with salacious lies and horrible accusations. He was very pleased with himself when he finally hung up the phone, but frowned as he thought of Lurlene Purdy being part of pushing Kyle forward. He’d deal with her soon, but right now, he had to deal with a few contracts and then head on home. He had a wedding to attend, and he was not going to keep the bride waiting.

“I think I’m going to be sick.” Mya pressed her hand against her midsection.
She stared at herself in the mirror and hardly recognized the woman who stood in front of her. The dress Robin and Ethan picked out was a gorgeous white silk gown with an Empire waist and bare shoulders and a simple pearled and embroidered bolero jacket. She was excited, nervous, and hell, every emotion in between. It was wreaking havoc on her body.
“Oh, sweetie, we just got you in that, so suck on this mint to settle your stomach.” Robin held out the peppermint candy, and she popped it into her mouth. “If you spew on this dress, I will never forgive you.”
“You’re such a girl, worrying about the dress more than me,” Mya said around the mint.
Robin kissed her forehead. “I don’t have to worry about you much anymore, honey. You’ve got Ethan now. Are you having second thoughts?”
She shook her head. “No…yes…hell, I don’t know.”
“But last night you…” Robin let the words drop, and she caught his meaning.
She slapped him on the shoulder. “Yes, Mr. Nosy, we did, and it was great, but what if in the long run he thinks he made a mistake?”
“I saw him in the kitchen this morning making coffee and whistling like a loon. He is not changing his mind about anything,” Robin said. “I think he did a little dance or had to go to the bathroom. God, he can’t dance a lick.”
Mya grinned. “Really?”
Robin nodded. “Yes, don’t worry. If it feels right, Mya, it’s right. Don’t second-guess yourself. But if it doesn’t, trust your gut, and we can vamoose out of here.”
Mya didn’t hesitate. “This is right.”
“Then let’s go get married.” Robin handed her the bridal bouquet and clapped his hands.
There was no wedding march or a room full of guests. Mya didn’t mind because down the stairs had been decorated with beautiful white flowers, and Ethan stood at the bottom of the massive staircase in the wide foyer. Easton stood next to him, and the judge was there as well. Robin had outdone himself with the decoration. She now saw why he didn’t want her downstairs all that morning. The surprise was wonderful. Ethan was dressed in a charcoal-gray tailored suit with a midnight-blue silk tie. Easton and Robin wore a darker color, but their ties matched Ethan’s and went with the blue roses in her hand.
“You look amazing,” Ethan said as he bent down and kissed her cheek.
“Welcome to the family.” Easton gave her a hug and winked. “See? I’m nice today, no foot in mouth.”
“You’re sweet regardless,” Mya laughed.
“Ready to marry my womb buddy here?” Easton asked.
Ethan took her hand, and she smiled up at Easton. “I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life.”
Her reservations were gone. All she had to do was look into his eyes and see that this was right. Her hormones may be out of whack because of her pregnancy, but when he touched her, it felt as if her world was righted. The ceremony was simple yet beautiful. Ethan slipped a platinum wedding band with three diamonds on her finger. She did the same, repeating the vows he had said only moments before. Their union was sealed with a kiss, and then it was done. She was officially Mrs. Ethan Tremaine. Pictures were taken, and the four of them shared an early dinner. Mya and Ethan left around five that evening for the Boston Harbor Hotel.
