Billionaire's Revenge(28)

By:Marie Kelly

“You look wonderful darling”, she gushed, moving forward and pulling Sara in for a hug. Angela gave a derisory laugh as she threw herself onto one of the stools lined against the island in the centre of the room. “You seem to have slotted right into the role of mistress”, her voice vindictive as she sneered nastily. Sara turned on her, “You forget why I am there at all, and the clothes are not for my sake...they are for his”

Her mother’s voice had been conciliatory as she threw a glare at her eldest daughter, “Of course they are dear...and Angela and I are eternally thankful for what you are doing” Sighing heavily, Sara sat down also as she slid a piece of paper to her mother. “I thought that you should know where I am staying. We moved to his main home yesterday. That is the address and phone number” Reading the slip of paper her mother’s eyes opened wide in shock “He lives there!” Her eyes flying to Sara’s. “How rich is he?”

Sara felt the distaste of the question as she shook her head “I have no idea...nor do I have any interest...have you heard anything from the detective?” Both shook their heads, a desolate look on each of their faces. “Nothing. He can’t seem to find any trace of him after he left that night. He seems to think that this is a good thing...that maybe he is hiding out somewhere. Said that if he is still in the country then all the money will be close by too”

She nodded, a smile lighting her lips. “Makes sense...just need one break”, the others nodding back. The sound of a received text made her sigh as she pulled the phone she had been given out of her bag, Angela giving a long moan. “I...is that what I think it is ...do you have any idea how much those things cost? They are the most expensive smart phones out there” Sara read the text, frowning. The short message informed her that he would be home by six that evening and expected her to accompany him to a meal with a business acquaintance and his wife. Sarah gave a long sigh

“No...But I know what I am being made to pay” Her lips tightened as she stood, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “I have to go. My Master calls”

Chapter Five

That night Sara found herself enjoying the meal. The couple, Daniel and Kathryn Taylor, were fun to be with. She found herself laughing as they turned out to be old friends of Darius’ both taking considerable delight in telling her stories about him. He groaned begging for mercy, his eyes darting to hers as he gave as good as he got. They had been curious to know about Sara, she opening up to the two as she told them of having completed her degree in business management, Darius’ eyebrows lifting as he sounded surprised.

“You never told me that”, he smiled as she gave a return one. “You never asked” Both their eyes held the others, Sara feeling the electricity flowing between them, both unable to look away as the other two looked on, Daniel finally giving a soft cough. “Get a room, you two”, he chuckled as they both tore their eyes from the other, Sara dropping hers in confusion.

That night as he took her into his arms she melted willingly against him, her hands pulling his head towards her as she once more allowed this man to take her to all new heights of pleasure, neither sleeping until they lay spent and exhausted in the other’s arms.

For the next few days the two slipped into a routine. Darius would work till late, returning home just in time to have dinner with Sara. From there he would move into his office to continue with work, while she read or flicked through apartment and job listings. With a definite date given to her by Darius, she scheduled several appointments, determined to become settled as quickly as possible. Every second day, she would keep the one appointment she most looked forward too; having to leave hurt her more and more each time.#p#分页标题#e#

On the third day, she sat in the kitchen talking to Edith. With nothing else to do, she persuaded the housekeeper to show her how to make her wonderful cupcakes, smiling knowing who would love the icing-laden treats. Her ringing phone made Sara frown, the sound of her mother on the end making her scowl with impatience as she listened. Without even asking how Sara was, her mother launched into a long story of being left to babysit for David that night, only to find that Angela had phoned her to tell her that she was not going to be back for the following night either. Sara felt the anger rise within her as she heard that her sister was spending the weekend with her new boyfriend, a frown on her face.

“She has not even been separated six weeks...and she is spending the weekend with another man?” her voice disbelieving, her frown deepening as her mother defended her. “Darling...she has been through a traumatic time, she needs to feel wanted” Sara interrupting her, “She has a son, mother...what about him?” Her mother sighed. “Well I said it would be fine my looking after him tonight...but she has just landed this other night on me...and I have a previous engagement Sara...can you watch him tomorrow?”
