I awoke the next morning to the birds chirping and the smell of coffee and donuts. I wrapped the bed comforter around my naked body and walked into the living room. Liam was sitting down, eating a big chocolate donut with sprinkles.
“Where did you get those?” I asked, peeking into the pink box.
“There's a general store a few miles from here. I woke up early and picked them up.”
I grabbed a chocolate bar and the first bite tasted divine. “This is exactly what I needed.”
“Don't you need something else? Liam asked, slipping his hands under the comforter and feeling me up.
“Take me again.”
Liam and I knew what we were doing was wrong. I couldn't tell any of my friends even though I desperately wanted to.
Things got even more complicated when a pregnancy test became positive. Liam and I were going to have a baby. I freaked out at first, thinking that a high school girl couldn't have a baby now. Then I relaxed knowing that Liam would take care of me.
I was nervous when I first told him. I didn't know how he was going to react. When the words came out of my mouth, his smile told me everything that I needed to know.
We were going to be a family now and Liam would stay with me forever.
Finish Inside Me
I've always been attracted to my step stepdad, Noah. He raised me and he felt like a real father. We always hung out but I knew Noah only thought of me as a child. I had the biggest crush on him for three years until I moved away to college. He was incredibly attractive and looked a little like James Dean. Everyone could see why I was hopelessly attracted to him. I thought that my crush on him was just a childhood fantasy but it wasn't until I returned home after college that I realized it was more than just a fantasy.
I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's in Communications. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it which my mom relentlessly questioned me about. I knew that I was going to have to move back home before I could go look for a new job. I wasn't very excited about moving back especially after being on my own for four years. I knew there was nothing I could do about it so I tried not to dwell on it too much.
I had all my things packed up in my car and I began the five-hour trip back home. While at school, I really only saw my parents when I went to visit for the holidays. There was always so much family there that I never really got to see either of them that much. On the drive home, I wondered if my feelings for Noah would return. I knew it was just a schoolgirl crush but all the boys I met at college were such douche bags. The five-hour drive went by faster than I thought because I was suddenly at my parent's driveway.
My mom burst out of the front door yelling “Welcome home Aubrey!!” Noah was behind her with a big smile.
I opened the door and stuck my head above the top of the car. “Hi Mom! Hi!”
I went around the car and my mom attacked me with a big hug, “Oh I missed you so much honey!”
“Me too, Mom.”
My mom wouldn't let me go and I stood there wrapped in her arms watching my step stepdad chuckle at us.
Once my mom finally released me, I went to hug my stepdad. “How you doing kiddo?”
“I'm fine.” I replied while we embraced. He was a lot different than the last time I saw him. He had grown a beard and he looked stronger. I could smell his manly scent which meant he was probably doing yard work all day. Most guys' BO made me cringe but for some reason Noah smelled really nice. Crap! Don't let this schoolgirl crush come back. It's not worth it! I told myself.
“Well honey lets get you situated back in your old room,” My mom said while motioning for my stepdad to start unpacking my car.
“I'll catch up with you later,” I told Noah. My mom led me into the house and up the stairs back to my old room.
My room looked just how I left it before I went to college.“Wow Mom, it looks like you didn't touch a thing in here.”
“Well I knew you would be coming back home eventually silly goose.” My mom was the way where she would insult you but she didn't know she was doing it. I used to get really offended when I was younger but I just learned to deal with it because that's how she is.
My mom and I talked about college while my step stepdad brought my boxes up and set them down in my room. “So what type of job are you going to look for?”
“Oh come on mom! I've only been here for thirty minutes and you're already pestering me.”
“I'm sorry! I'm sorry! But I just want to make sure you have a plan,” She said with a sad face.
“Don't worry, Mom! Let me get situated here first and then we can both worry about what I do next.”
