Bend To His Will(25)

By:Sam Crescent

Luke even stopped by to get the dirt on them, but Neal refused to talk. What happened between him and Sandy would stay between them.

He loved making her ass red at night. The mere thought of the time when he got home late to find Sandy bent over the couch, ass bare, pussy wet and ready for him to do whatever, made him moan.

“Penny for you thoughts, son?” His dad’s presence pulled him out of his erotic memory.

“No,” he said, flushing a guilty red.

“I guess with that look it was too dirty for your old man.”

Neal finished doing his job before he removed his gloves. “What’s the matter, Dad?”

“Nothing. Just wanted to come see you.”

He frowned at his dad, wondering what he wanted to say. “You’ve always found telling me your worries easy. Why don’t you tell me what’s on your mind?”

“You and Sandy…”

“Don’t go there,” Neal told him instantly.

“Neal, I don’t like…”

“Look, what’s happening between me and Sandy is our business. I don’t need you to tell me about our relationship.”

“I get that. But you don’t know how easy it is to lose the woman you love.”

“I don’t love Sandy.” As soon as he said the words he couldn’t guarantee he meant them.

His dad shook his head. “Open your eyes son before it’s too late.”

Before Neal could stop him, his old man walked back to the house. Good thing his brothers were around to see him storm off. Neal reached into his pocket to get his cell. He needed to hear Sandy’s voice, not the tiresome opinions of his family.

The annual cowboy dance was happening on Friday. He wanted to ask her to go with him. Shit. The sign showing a call had been made was lit. The stupid phone already called her. He must have forgotten to put the lock on.

“Hello?”

When no response came, he placed the damn thing back in his pocket after resetting the lock. She probably hadn’t heard her phone. He smiled, thinking about the woman who occupied his every waking thought.

Sandy stared at the phone, her heart hammering. Clearly Neal had made a phone call by mistake. What was wrong with her? She knew he didn’t love her but hearing him say the words cut deep. Why didn’t anyone want to love her?

Tears formed in her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. Deny, deny, deny seemed like the best solution for now. She put her phone back in her bag and got back to work. Listening to other women’s troubles helped. The time away from her own thoughts meant she could keep her soul together and stop her heart from shattering to pieces. Overhearing that phone call, she knew some important choices would need to be decided the sooner the better.

Spending so much time hunting Neal, she hadn’t planned for the prospect of him not loving her. Stupid really. She planned everything. However, Neal wasn’t some chart she could put into plan or use to decide the best decision.

The girls went their own separate way as Sandy walked in the direction of her house. She needed time to think.

Neal’s truck pulled up alongside her. She knew he would expect her to get in. She couldn’t go with him.

“Sandy, baby, you getting in?” he asked.

In her heart she screamed out yes. Her mind said differently. Biting her lip, she turned to him.

“Hi, Neal.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing is wrong. Should there be?”

Mention the phone call. Tell me you were lying to your dad. Please, tell me you love me.

“Are you getting in?” He leaned over and pushed the door open for her.#p#分页标题#e#

She had two choices. Choice one, she could get in and be happy being his fuck buddy, only hoping to mean something more to him. Or, choice two, don’t get in and wait to see what happened.

She held onto the handle before slowly closing the door. “I’m tired. I’m going to go home and get some rest.”

“Are you sure you’re all right?” he asked once again, only slower this time.

“I’m fine.”

He nodded his head.

Sandy pulled away and started walking up the street.

“Sandy, wait.”

She turned to see him getting out of the truck.

“I wanted to ask you something.”

“Ask away.”

“This Friday. The cowboy dance.”

She’d forgotten about the dance. “What about it?” Would he take someone else?

“I was wondering if you would be my date?”

Sandy wanted to blurt out no, yes and every thought in between. Instead she settled for a nod of the head.

“Great. I’ll pick you up from your house?”
