“I’m gonna fuck your sweet pussy. I can’t get enough of it,” he said, running his length over her slick sex then thrusting into her. “Fuck, you feel good, baby.”
Panting and grunting, he pummeled her hard and fast, his hands slipping under her ass and lifting her further so he could push in deeper. As he dove in, she tilted her hips up, meeting him, taking every inch of him, until they moved together as one, their bodies fused by heat and lust.
His gaze dropped and he watched himself enter her over and over, stretching her wider, his dick glistening with her juices.
“Fuck, you’re irresistible,” he panted.
As they moved together, her soft hand lightly touching his balls sent jolts of intense pleasure up his spine. He couldn’t remember ever wanting a woman as badly as he wanted her. Bending down, he captured her mouth, kissing her hard before he pulled back, his eyes fixed on hers. With his finger, he caressed the side of her clit, watching her face crumple as she cried out in pleasure, her warm walls tightening around him as he pushed into her. Her arms circled him, her nails digging into the skin on his back. Then his body went stiff and a feral growl sprang from his throat as his seed rushed out in streams, filling her up.
“Baylee. Fuck. Fuck!”
He collapsed on top of her, loving the feel of her quivering body as it slowly relaxed from her orgasm. Flipping over, he held her close to him, their legs entwined. They lay together, sated, Axe playing with her hair as he kissed the side of her forehead. He never wanted to move.
Baylee, naked and warm, and in his arms, was perfect.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
Two weeks later
The anniversary of her mother’s death came and went without incident. Baylee hadn’t heard anything from the killer for the past three weeks. Perhaps someone was playing a sick joke on her, after all, and all her worry was for naught. Banger nixed the guard duty since everything was quiet and he needed the prospects at the club.
Baylee had felt vulnerable at first, but Axe made sure he was around most of the time when she wasn’t at work, so the fear was held at bay.
The end of the summer, and her services in Pinewood Springs, were coming to an end. The foundation had been poured and the strip mall construction had begun. Banger was pleased, and he rewarded Baylee with a very large bonus. Logan accused her of sleeping her way into the good graces of the club, and Baylee knew when she was chosen for the partnership, he’d cry foul.
She sighed. She had mixed feelings about going back to Denver. On one hand, she missed her condo, friends, and the feel of a big city, but on the other, she was hopelessly in love with Axe. How could she leave him? In ten days, she’d be back home. For sure, she’d have to come back to Pinewood Springs to make sure everything was going okay, but the majority of the process on her end was finished; the rest could be completed by Skype.
Her heart lurched when she thought of Axe. They loved each other, something she never would have predicted. A one-night stand had turned into mutual love and respect. She smiled weakly when she remembered her plan to engage in a summer fling with him.
She packed up her laptop just as her phone pinged. Her heart leapt when she saw it was Axe. He must’ve finished with his uncle. Axe had finally tracked his uncle down and went to talk with him. Baylee was dying to know what transpired.
Axe: Hey, babe. Want Mexican for dinner?
Baylee: Sounds perfect. Did u see ur uncle?
Axe: Yeah. He’s sorry he scared u. Just thought u were pretty.
Bullshit.
Baylee: U believe him?
Axe: Yeah. Know him. Dead end.
Is he telling me the truth? Why would he lie to me? I feel something’s not right.
Axe: U still there?
Baylee: Yeah. Packing up. Done with work.
Axe: Club is sponsoring charity bike rally tomorrow. Want to go?
Baylee: Yeah. Is it in town?
Axe: Ya. In Lakeside Valley.
Baylee: K. What time tonight?
Axe: 7:30. I’ll pick u up.
Baylee: K. See u.
She massaged the back of her neck, trying to rub out the kinks. Even though Axe said his uncle’s actions were innocent, she didn’t believe it for a moment. He was probably just biased because it was his uncle. She switched off the office light, happy the work day was over.

“Are you sure he’s telling you the whole story?” Dean asked as he adjusted the fan in his hot office.
Axe wiped his palms on his jeans. “Yeah. I have a way of getting people to tell me the truth.”
The private investigator glanced sideways in surprise. “Your own family? Damn, that’s cold.”
Axe’s gaze was flat and hard. “So, we set to go next Tuesday?”
“Sure. Shit!” He jumped back, shook his hand, then placed his bleeding thumb in his mouth. “This damn fan is a pain in the ass.”
