Damn, does this town only breed good looking people or what? I’m kind of awestruck, I thought Jax was perfect, this guy standing in front of me is gorgeous, of course I can’t compare the two. Mr. handsome here, has that boy next door thing going on along with the dimples and dark blond combed over hair, those hazel eyes... they’re amazing...so familiar.
I realize I’m staring and he chuckles, oh god, even his laugh is perfect, what? What the fuck is wrong with me?! Shaking off this weird sensation, I can feel myself blushing. I look to see my paper on the floor and as soon as I bend down to pick it up, so does he.
We bump heads and end up tripping over each other in the middle of the hallway. I burst out laughing and he soon joins in, he helps me up and when our laughter dies down and the students stop staring and continue their way down the hallway he hands me my paper.
“Thanks, sorry about bumping into you…twice, I’m just a walking disaster I swear.” I say through laughs. He’s chuckling along with me then I feel an arm on my shoulder and I see Jax.
“Lexi, I see you bumped into my boy, Drake.” Jax says nodding in Drakes direction playfully punching Drake in the arm.
“Yip.” I say, still giggling. “I certainly bumped into him.” Drake starts chuckling louder. Jax shakes his head not getting our little inside joke.
Finally Drake composes himself. “So this is Lexi? Jax here has been telling me about you, I’ve been waiting to meet you but Ronny and this tool have been hogging you all to themselves. I’m Drake by the way it’s good to FINALLY meet you.” He says still staring at me with those mesmerizing eyes.
The bell rings and I walk between the boys to my first class, we are all in the same classes for the first few lessons, and the last few are all mixed up. One I have Jax in and not Drake and the other I have Drake and not Jax the last one we are all together except Mark and Chloe, but in all my classes there’s always one or the other, if not both Jax or Drake.
When lunch time comes, Ronny, Rachel and Chloe fill me in about Drake, not sure why he interests me so much. They tell me that Jax and Drake are best friends, they have been friends since babies and since their parents are best friends too it only seems fitting.
Throughout the day I can feel Drake looking at me, I keep getting that feeling when you know someone is looking at you or passing glances your way. Yeah it should be creepy, but I can’t help but wonder what he finds so interesting about me that he needs to look at me the way he does, as if he’s trying to figure me out. It gives me an uneasy feeling; I haven’t had someone pay so much attention to me in so long.
After last period we head to the car park, I hear what sounds like a growl to my left, it definitely came from Rachel, I take a quick glance at what she’s looking at.
She’s glaring at a girl who has her hand on Mark's chest down by his car. Rachel’s eyes go all dark, the same way Jax’s did when he was looking at Greg at the bar that night. I’m a little uneasy, so I take a step back but I bump into someone.
“Rachel not here!” Jax’s voice roars from behind me, he gives her a pointed look as he looks down at me, clearly I’m missing something.
“But she’s got her hands on my ma…” Rachel cries back but gets interrupted by Jax again.
“I. Said. Not. Now! What don’t you understand? Go home we’ll talk about this later!” I don’t even recognize Jax, I’ve never seen him this mad. I’m kind of shaking in my boots, literally.
I whisper in Chloe’s ear asking her for a lift home because I’m too scared to drive home alone with Jax. She laughs at me but Drake interrupts and offers me a ride. Jax and Drake whisper something to each other, then Drake comes up to me and takes my bag off and puts it on his shoulder as we walk to his car, of course he has the exact same car as Jax, only red.
The drive is pretty quiet apart from the radio playing but it’s not an awkward silence it’s more of a comfortable one. Looking out the window, I notice we aren’t driving back toward the trailer park.
“Where are we going?” I ask Drake. He gives me those dimples and smiles.
“Well if it’s okay with you, I was going to take you for an ice-cream by the beach, it’s okay if you don’t want to. I just thought I could spend some time with you because I haven’t really had a chance to really get to know you and everyone else has spent time with you.” He says and I can see he’s blushing as he rambles on. It makes me smile.
“Drake are you feeling left out?” I say as I rub the side of his arm.
“Don’t blush.” I giggle, “Let’s go have ice-cream then, I’m keen.”
