A Perfect Fit(14)

Marissa could only stare at her friend, until her words sank in and understanding dawned on her. She smiled reluctantly. “Well, that was a first for me and the big jerk walked away just at the crucial moment.”

Val glanced at Beau. “Oh, he definitely knows what he’s doing, girl. That’s part of the fun. Wait until later, when he gets around to finishing. You’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven. It will be the most intense orgasm you’ve ever have. You remember Jeff back in college? Well there was this one day when he kept teasing me to the brink. He must have done it ten times and when I finally climaxed…”

Drinking turned Val into a little chatterbox. Marissa knew once she got going there was no use trying to keep up. She ordered another Bloody Mary and sat back with a smile. But her smile quickly vanished when she noticed a woman join Beau at the bar. They struck up a friendly conversation, and when he bought the woman a drink Marissa decided it was time to leave.

“Val, it’s been great catching up with you but I think I’m ready to leave. You’re not driving, are you?”

“Oh no. I took a cab here.”

“Then why don’t we take you home?” Marissa stood up.

Val shook her head. “I’m not ready to leave yet. And besides,” She glanced at the man she’d been dancing with earlier. He was sitting at the bar across from Beau, just staring at them. “I think I have a ride home.” She motioned him over.

“Well okay then. Let’s get together again before I leave Texas.”

“Okay honey. Call me.”

That was the same thing Marissa heard the woman at the bar saying to Beau when she walked up to him. He accepted the card the woman handed him, and got to his feet when he noticed Marissa move up behind him in the mirror.

“I’m ready to go home, honey.” Marissa wrapped her arm around his. Beau frowned down at her, his eyes narrowing. She batted her eyelashes at him. “Unless there’s something keeping you here?”

Beau turned to the other woman seated at the bar. “I’ll be in touch.”

“New girlfriend?” Marissa asked while they were walking away. “Pretty.”

“Client,” he said abruptly. He opened the club door for her.

“Thank you.” It seemed like all of a sudden they were polite strangers. “I suppose you know where my place is.”

“Yep.” He opened the hummer door for her, assisted her in, and closed it.

Marissa watched him walk around the hood to the driver side. She was tired and looking forward to a long shower and bed, and since Beau didn’t seem to be in a talking mood she laid her head back and closed her eyes.

She didn’t intend to fall asleep, but that’s what happened.

Chapter 5

Beau parked his hummer, switched off the ignition, and turned to look at Marissa. Sleeping, she looked like an angel. Huh! The lady was a she-cat. He took a deep breath. She was going to be pissed when she woke up to see that he hadn’t taken her home, but to his ranch instead. Maybe he should just let her sleep. No, knowing how obstinate she was, when she woke up she’d probably start walking back to town.

His quiet gaze ran over her. Even in sleep, she stirred something deep inside him. He contributed it to lust. His palms itched to cup her large breasts. He wanted to tease her nipples until they were swollen and hard, taste their sweetness with his tongue. She’d teased him mercilessly on the dance floor. He’d set out to turn the tables on her, suffering the consequences just as much. The lady was a nuisance, but damn, she was the perfect fit for him in so many ways.

He’d been hard since meeting the curvy blonde, and one taste of her made him want her again. It wasn’t often Beau met a woman who could take him on without having to worry about hurting her in some way. Christ! Recalling how he’d pounded into her earlier, his cock was hard and throbbing now. He lifted his butt off the seat, reached down, and rearranged it. But it didn’t help. What he wanted was sitting beside him, snoring lightly and clueless to his predicament.

He shook his head, annoyed for letting his thoughts run away with him. No sense in prolonging it. He reached over and gave Marissa a nudge. “Wake up, beautiful, we’re home.” She stirred very little and moaned something unintelligible beneath her breath. “Marissa, wake up, we’re home.” This time Beau raised his voice when he nudged her.
