A Mate for Lazarus(29)

By:Charlene Hartnady

“I’m going to do it again soon.” He kept his eyes on hers.

She shook her head. “I don’t think humans were made to come that hard. You might just kill me but what a way to go.”

“I went easy on you.”

“You. Did. Not.” Her eyes bugged out of her skull.

“I did. We will take it slow.” He smiled.

She allowed herself to fall back on the pillow and huffed out a breath. “I never thought I would say this but we might just have to. My vagina feels pretty darned tender.”

“We can’t have that. I will need to kiss it better for you.” He moved down her body, stopping at her plump breasts. They were amazing and so soft. Her areolas were wide and such a light shade of pink that they almost faded into the rest of her breast. Her nipples were a soft ruby and ripe as fuck. It was like they continually begged for him to suck on them.

She giggled as he took one into his mouth, twirling the bud with his tongue.

“That tickles.” She giggled some more as she dug her fingers into his scalp.

Her stomach made a growling noise. He even felt the vibration against him. “Mmmmm…” Lazarus pulled away and raised his brows. “Someone needs to eat.”

She stroked his hair. “I’m starving. Aside from missing both breakfast and lunch…I didn’t end up touching the sandwich you made me…that was some workout.”

“Up.” He pulled the cover to the side. “Go eat.”

She stood up, giving a big stretch. His eyes were drawn to her breasts…fuck…and then down to the soft fur between her legs…double fuck. His dick throbbed. Lazarus grabbed a pillow and covered himself. “Maybe you should get dressed.”

She smirked knowingly. “Now why would I do that?” She pretended to stretch her hamstrings, giving him the perfect view of her still glistening pussy.

Lazarus groaned. “Don’t tease, Alexandra. It’s not very nice. Didn’t your mother teach you better manners?”

“Hey.” She turned. “That’s my line.”

“Besides, you need to eat and rest a bit more. I’m going to have you again soon.”

Her gaze turned heated. She licked her lips and nodded. She pulled a shirt out of her closet and pulled it over her head. It barely made it past her ass and her tight little nipples made sharp little points appear against the fabric. It was sexy as fuck.

Lazarus pushed down harder on the pillow. Get a grip!

She removed the silver lid and moaned. “It smells delicious.” Grabbing the plate and utensils, she sat down on the edge of the bed with the plate balanced on her lap.

Even something as simple as watching her eat was a joy. Alexandra scooped up a forkful of lasagna and put it into her mouth.

His mouth pulled into a grin as he watched her put an even bigger mouthful between her lips. She had to cover her mouth while she chewed because it was so full. Her cheeks bulged. She made these amazing sounds of rapture.

Her eyes finally focused on him. They widened. She chewed quicker. Trying to clear her mouth. After swallowing, she held the plate out to him. “Here.” She chopped a piece off with her fork. “Have some.”

Lazarus shook his head. The last thing he wanted to have touch his lips was food. Nothing compared to the decadence of her blood. Nothing.

“Not hungry?” She grinned. Her cheeks flushed as she obviously remembered how he’d drank from her.

“I don’t think I’ll ever consume food again. Not after tasting your blood, Alexandra. I could live quite happily drinking from you and only you…pretty much for the rest of my life. I wouldn’t need anything else or anyone else.”

Her cheeks flushed further and she began to play with her food. Moving it around on her plate.

Fuck! He needed to stop saying things like that. This was moving far too quickly for a human. “I didn’t mean to say that…I…”

“You haven’t scared me.” She chuckled. It was a deep throaty sound. “You said that you weren’t at all romantic or charming, well”—she paused—“for a vulgar, dirty talking vampire, I think you’re pretty romantic and there is definitely charm there.”

He had to roll his eyes. “And I’m a cuddly fucking teddy bear.”

“You’re never going to let me live that one down are you?”

“I might let you make it up to me.” He eyed her half-finished plate of food. “Just as soon as you finish eating.”

She grinned, looking up at him from under her lashes. “You’re going to wear me out.”

“That’s the plan…eat your food, Alexandra.”

Her eyes glinted as she piled her fork full. “That sounds to me like a challenge. You do realize that your cock will be worn down by the time I’m done with it. It will be about half the size and half the width…pretty much normal sized.” She laughed.

He had to laugh too. “Let’s hope fucking not.”

She pulled a face. “In hindsight, that wouldn’t be the best plan. I really like your gargantuan cock just the way it is.”

“I wouldn’t mind if you tried to wear it down and...” He paused. “I’m glad you like my cock just the way it is. I’m kind of partial to it myself.”

She laughed. “I might just die trying to wear that baby down.” With a hand to her belly, she pulled a face. “I need to pop to the toilet. My bladder is about to burst.” She put her plate down on the table and disappeared into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Lazarus looked around her room. It was neat and tidy, the only thing out of place was what looked like a notepad open on her desk. A pen lay next to it. There were also some loose papers spread out around the pad.

Lazarus couldn’t help himself. Surely if it lay open she wouldn’t mind if he took just a little peek. He removed the pillow from his still engorged cock, climbed out of bed and made his way over.

Just one quick glance.

His eyes widened as he began to read. Shit! What the hell was she thinking? Not a fuck! His heart raced.

“What do you think you’re doing? That’s private.” Alexandra sounded panicked.

When he turned, her hands were white knuckled on the door.

“You’re right…it is private. You have no right to be writing these things.” He picked up the notepad. “What is this, Alexandra?”

She shrugged. “You can see what it is.”

Lazarus shook his head. “It’s a story…about us. About The Program. Fuck! What do you plan on doing with this? What the hell? I trusted you. Do you plan on using the information I gave you as well?” He tried to keep his voice even. Lazarus put down the notepad because he could feel it crumpling in his grip.

She swallowed hard. Then she looked down at her feet for a few beats before her eyes locked back with his. “It’s exactly what it looks like. I’m a journalist…that is what I do. It’s what I was born to do. I need you to try and understand that.”

“Is that why you are here?”

“I told you I wasn’t going to lie and that I do want to be able to tell that story. I feel strongly that the world deserves to know. I think it would help your cause. Did you really read that? Because if you did, you’ll know that what I’m saying is true?”

He felt everything in him soften and forced himself to take a few deep breaths. “It is not the story itself. Although I didn’t finish reading it, I can see that the story is good…it depicts us in a fair light. Our struggles, our hopes, our dreams…it shows that even though we are vampires that we have a human side…don’t you dare repeat that or write that down.” He sucked in a lungful of air. “My kings will never allow for it to be published. You are wasting your time…” He felt his blood run cold. “Wait a minute…you didn’t plan on publishing that regardless? Did you? That’s not what this is about is it?” He gestured between them. It would fucking kill him. Destroy him. Bring him to his knees.

She shook her head and moved to stand in front of him. “No. I promise you that the story will never see the light of day unless I get permission. I’m going to try and get permission though and I want you to back me.”

What the hell was he supposed to say to that?

He was second in command of the elite team, part of the Royal guard, yet this tiny human in front of him was his future mate. “Do you agree to let this go if the kings refuse?”

He could see the drive written in her eyes, could see the sheer determination. This was important to her.

“I will help you. We can speak with them…together, but you need to let this go if it doesn’t work out. Promise me that you will not go behind my back?” He picked up the notepad. “If this got out…” Everything in him tensed. His heart clenched painfully in his chest. “You would be asked to leave.” Lazarus cupped her jaw and ran a finger across the full expanse of her bottom lip. “You are important to me, Alexandra. I have a feeling that you might be everything to me and I hope to be able to have the chance to become everything to you.”

Her lower lip quivered. Her eyes glistened. Alexandra nodded.

“I’m not moving too fast am I?”

She shook her head and smiled. “I’m glad you understand. I’m glad you’re going to help me and I’m glad about the other stuff too.” She threw her arms around his neck and pushed herself against him. Lazarus picked her up and carried her to the bed.
