The Yeah, Baby Series Volume 2(37)

By:Fiona Davenport

"Betty is still at lunch, sweetheart."

She visibly relaxed and then smiled at me slyly. "So . . . we're all alone?" Her hands strayed to my suit jacket and she popped open the three buttons. "Didn't you say something about naked wall-sex the other day?"

I had a feeling this swift change in mood was indicative of how the next 8 months were going to be. I couldn't wait to experience every moment. And, the raging pregnancy hormones definitely had their advantages.

Wrapping her legs around my waist, I stood, holding her with my hands under her ass. I walked toward the wall on the opposite side of the room. "You know we're going to have to burn that couch, right?" she quipped.

Smirking, I squeezed her cheeks and pressed her back against the wall, my cock firmly nestled in the apex of her thighs. "What couch? I believe the subject at hand was wall-fucking," I growled before my mouth crashed down over hers.

"The courthouse isn't even open on weekends," I grumbled. "Why are we stopping here?"

I was beyond irritated and just wanted to go home. I'd been looking forward to a quiet Sunday morning at home, but Jax had dragged me out of bed at the butt crack of dawn-without even giving me one little orgasm first-and taken me out for brunch. Then he'd insisted we go to the farmer's market, where we'd wandered around without buying anything, except for an absolutely stunning bouquet of flowers that Jax had spotted. The arrangement was perfect for me since pink peonies were my favorite, and I'd been surprised to find them there since it wasn't your usual run-of-the-mill bouquet.

"Judge Frazier is in his chambers this morning," he explained as he led me towards the front doors. "He promised the building would be open."

"This is highly unusual," I mumbled, still not understanding why he needed to see the judge so urgently in the first place. At least, not until he prodded me through the doors and I found my mom, step-dad, Eden, and Isaac standing there with huge grins on their faces.

"What in the world?" I gasped as my mom swept me up in a hug.

"My little girl," she sighed. "Getting married."

"Married?" I repeated.

"He really didn't tell you? Your Jax is so much like my Lawrence," she laughed, sending a loving glance over her shoulder at my step-dad.

"C'mon!" Eden urged, grabbing my elbow and dragging my mom and me away from everyone else. She only stopped to snag a garment bag from her husband along the way.

"I'm getting married today?" I asked after she and my mom got me settled in a chair in Judge Frazier's clerk's office. My mom had yanked a huge cosmetic bag out of her purse, while Eden pulled a gorgeous white dress and my pink pair of stilettos out of the garment bag.

"Yup, your crazy-ass fiancé made all the arrangements, with a little bit of help from your mom and me," Eden confirmed.

"Why am I not surprised?" I groaned, thinking about the way he'd skipped over the proposal part and shoved his ring on my finger while he'd had me naked in bed less than two months ago. "I should have expected he'd do something like this, but the courthouse?"

"He said it was the perfect place because you're both here for work so often. From today on, this building will have a whole new meaning to you." My mom practically swooned as she explained his reasoning, making it clear how much she approved of the idea. Judging from the googly eyes Eden was making, she wasn't alone either. It was a good thing it made me melt just as much. For such a bossy man, Jax could be such a romantic sometimes.

The next hour was a whir of activity as my mom and Eden got me ready. Hair, makeup, flowers, the perfect dress-Jax really had thought of everything. I couldn't even imagine how many strings he'd had to pull to even get us into the courthouse when it was closed, but as I walked into the law library, with its arched ceiling and the smell of books surrounding us, I was incredibly grateful that he'd done it. With my voice quivering, both of our hands over my belly, and my family and our friends surrounding us, I pledged myself to the man I loved.
