Long: A Secret Baby Sports Romance(4)

By:B. B. Hamel

It wasn’t long before I got her on the dance floor, our bodies moving to the beat. I knew she was dripping wet by the way she looked at me. All I had to do was ask, and she was mine.

Avery Carpenter. She was the last girl I touched before season started and my life became packed with nothing more than football. When two a days started, the memory of her incredible lips wrapped around my cock got me through some of the worst of it.

I wanted to call her. I really did. But nothing was going to stop me from becoming the best quarterback in the country, and I didn’t have time for distractions.

Not even distractions like Avery.

I opened up the door to my apartment and let the cool air blast into my face. I was still sweaty from practice, but I didn’t care as I collapsed onto the couch.

I lived in a pretty nice apartment right on the edge of campus. It was an easy walk from my place to the practice fields, and a lot of the other players lived in the building with me. Coach liked to keep us all together to try to foster a team spirit, but that just meant the guys threw raging parties whenever they had a second.

Not me, though. I was more focused than I’d ever been in my life.

I was also more tired. The first game of the season was coming in two weeks, and my body felt like I’d been hit by a truck and dragged for a few miles. Two a days had just ended with one of the most brutal practices ever.

“What up, Gibson?”

I sat up. Standing in the kitchen was my roommate, best friend, and killer running back, Hynes Whaler. He grinned at me, his dark skin lost in the weak overhead light.

“Fucking dead,” I grunted. “Coach beat my ass.”

“Oh yeah? He make you do hitting drills today?”

“Nah,” I said.

“Damn, because I just got my ass kicked by a bunch of dudes who love nothing more than causing pain.”

I laughed. “You just described yourself, man.”

“Maybe. But fuck, brother, these guys do not hold back in these fucking drills.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. Although I had a lot of pressure on my head, I was glad I didn’t have to go through tackling drills every day. I was a tall man, pretty big, and muscular for a quarterback, but Hynes was even bigger. The guy was a powerful running back and loved nothing more than crashing up the center of the line, bruising bodies and breaking skulls.

We got along just fine. He was known for his punishing runs, and I was known for my punishing throws. Plus, I was known to break a tackle or two to keep plays alive.

“I can’t listen to you complain today, Hynes,” I said, lying back down. “I just need to close my eyes for an hour.”

“Not today, man,” Hynes said. “Get your ass up. You got studying to do.”

I groaned. “Not today.”

“Coach’s fucking orders. You gotta get your ass up.” He threw an empty water bottle at me.

I groaned, shaking my head. “Fine. Fucking fine.” I sat up and shook my head. “Not only do I have to be the best QB in the country, but I better have a three point five GPA or else.”

“Damn, and you think I’m complaining today?”

I threw the bottle back at him and slowly stood up, my muscles sore as hell.

“By the way,” he said, “some girl came by for you.”

I sighed. There were a lot of girls coming by for me all the time. Sometimes it was a good thing, but most of the time it was just frustrating. I couldn’t waste an ounce of energy on these girls. All they wanted from me was some fucking star jock to parade around in front of their friends. Granted, I normally just wanted a taste of their little pussy, but still. I hadn’t been with anyone since that night, and I hadn’t even been able to think about it.

“Who was it this time? Some girl in Ugg boots and a North Face jacket named Ashley?”

Hynes grinned. “Nah, man. I would’ve taken that one for myself.”

“Who was it then?”

“Not sure. Said she needed to talk to you. Sounded kind of serious, actually.”

I frowned and shook my head. “Not today. I don’t have time for this sorority girl bullshit.”

“Whatever you say, man. She left her number. It’s on the table.”

I went over and took a look at it. I paused and frowned at it.

“What’s the matter?” Hynes asked.

“Not sure. Number looks familiar.”

“No shit, man. You’ve got every girl’s number in this whole fucking school.”

I grinned at him. “Not exactly.”

“Yeah, exactly.”

“Fuck off, all right? I have to shower and get the fuck out of here.”

“Yeah. Don’t be late, or Coach will have you running sprints.”
