All In:Playing the Fool(53)

"You just sit there and let him do whatever the hell he wants with her?" Zack asked Will.

"No," Will responded coolly. "Lacy lets him do whatever he wants with her. It's her decision to make, not mine."

"So you just put up with her fucking other guys?"

"If that's what makes her happy, then yes. What she does with him doesn't change how she feels about me."

What would make me happy at the moment would be stripping down and  rolling around in the sheets with Lacy. I hadn't been with her in weeks  and I'd missed her. I'd missed the connection we have that isn't a  romantic type love but an easy friendship with seriously great fucking.

I kissed Lacy again, showing her with my tongue what I wanted. She  understood and said a quiet, "Please." I stood up from the couch with  her in my arms and started down the hallway.

"We're going to go fuck now, so you can leave, Zack. I'll let you know  when the baby's born in February if we need to do a DNA test for you. I  really hope it's not yours," Lacy told the arrogant man.

"Wow," was all I heard him say before we made it to the guest bedroom.

Our mouths stayed joined when I laid her down on the bed and covered her  body with mine. My hands went up her shirt, removing it, and then  tugged down her shorts. I wanted to kiss and touch her everywhere.

"I've never been with a pregnant woman before," I said, making Lacy  laugh. "Oh shit, look at your gorgeous titties." My mouth sucked each of  her incredible, heavy breasts while my hand went between her thighs.  I'd barely touched her when she came.

"Well, that was easy," I laughed.

Lacy cringed and closed her eyes. "That's me alright. I'm slutty and easy."

"Lacy, you know that's not what I think. Look, just tell everyone the  baby is Will's. After he or she is born we'll all figure it out and then  it can just be our secret. No one else has to know."

She nodded. "It's probably his, but I'm scared that it might not be."

"There's nothing we can do about it now. So stop worrying and let me  fuck you. No, since you're a delicate pregnant woman I better make love  to you," I joked, earning a small smile.

"I've missed you. Move to Charlotte," she said looking up at me with sad blue eyes.

"I've missed you too, but I can't. Even if I had a job down here … I … "

"You're still trying to woo Katie. I know and I want that to work out  for you, I'm just selfish and like having you like this," she explained.

"I love being with you like this, but you know it's not enough for me."

"I know. You deserve more," she said.

I didn't want to think about how I'd just completely crashed and burned  at work this week with the woman I'd give anything to have.

"How are you and Will doing with this news?" I asked. Some strange, "My  seed is stronger," macho bullshit desire had a part of me wishing this  baby was actually mine. So I couldn't even begin to imagine how tough  this must be on Will.

"He's too good to me," she sniffled. "And I'm just a pregnant slut that  keeps hurting him." That's when Lacy started sobbing uncontrollably, and  I had no idea what the fuck to do.

"Will!" I yelled, hoping he knew how to make her tears stop.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Will asked when he appeared in the doorway.

"We were talking and then she just started bawling," I explained in a panic.

"She's been like this all week," he said, climbing into bed and pulling her against his chest.

"Lacy, remember what I've told you?" he asked, rubbing a hand through  her hair and one down her bare back. "This is my baby too, and I don't  care what the paternity test says. I can share you, and I can share our  baby. So stop blaming yourself and feeling guilty, because I'm not going  anywhere. Ever."

Lacy cried softly for a while, then it sounded like she said, "You're my plastic rose," between sniffles.

Will laughed and kissed the top of her head. "I'm the toughest motherfucking rose ever made, sweetheart."

I had no idea what the hell they were talking about, but I knew it  sounded pretty damn incredible. I also knew that if I wanted Katie, I'd  have to find a way to let Lacy go. That was going to be almost  impossible to do, especially if their baby was mine.

Chapter One

Sam West

I pulled the pillow tighter over my head. I was trying ineffectively to  block out the sun shining through my bedroom window, and the alarm clock  screeching out a horrible pop song. I don't know why I leave it on this  shitty radio station, except for it beats waking up to beep-beep-beep.

I blindly reached over to the nightstand and slapped my hand around  until I found and hit the snooze button, giving myself ten more minutes.  Work begins for me at the ungodly hour of eight a.m., and since there  were bills to pay and video games to buy, the next time my alarm went  off, I'd make myself get up.

I felt the dip in the foot of my mattress an instant before I heard his annoying voice.

"Get up jackass. I'm hungry, and you're going to be late for work."

I grabbed the pillow and swatted at the fat-ass orange and white tiger-striped cat to knock him off my bed.

"Get the fuck out of my room Chris!" I yelled at him. I have got to remember to lock my damn door!

"I bet a slash across your face will get you moving," he threatened.

"I'll feed you in ten minutes if you'll leave me the hell alone! But I  swear, if you scratch me with your filthy shit covered claws, I'll snap  you in half!"

"That reminds me, you need to change my cat litter too, asshole," he said as he finally gave up and sulked away.

"You know how to use the fucking toilet!" I screamed after him.

"I know, but my claws slip and I fall in. Then I have to spend the whole damn day licking piss water off myself," he whined.

Chris had been annoying the shit out of me for years, but he was one of  the few friends I had. Five years ago he'd been on the run from the  D.R.A and turned himself into a cat. He'd been one ever since because  the idiot didn't stir the counter-spell before transforming. It wasn't  the cat part of him that bothered me, it was his non-stop mouth. Why the  stupid spell left him with the ability to talk was just my luck.
